I didn't even think about that when I voted. But I didn't vote for that anyway. He calls it a one-time restructuring. But I seem to remember having a 'one-time' restructuring a couple seasons ago. I don't want it to turn into a regular thing. I know it sucks. But I think gutted teams are just something that we have to deal with to an extent.

i think i voted for the option where i pushed for more blanace but i wasnt willing to leave the region..

what would be ideal is gathering up the weakest teams and putting them in a certain division with the opportunity to advance.. and moving the stronger teams to more competive divisions..

so in oakland's case as was mentioned earlier .. if he went 16 - 0 .. then went on to dominate the next season.. chances are they'd move to another league where the chances of doin' that are not so high..

as for visalia and richmond..theyd be in the same league but when an owner decides to take over that team and build up on it and whoop up on the other weak teams.. he'll be likely to advance..

so pretty much.. keep the same system we have now.. but for one time, restructure the weaker teams elsewhere.. and dominant teams elsewhere as well..

Thing is, some of the stronger teams will end up disbanding and becoming gutted teams, and you're right back where you started. Restructuring isn't really a long term solution. Therefore it wouldn't be a one-time deal.

therefore should they become gutted / disbanded.. they move down the ladder and eventually trickle down to the league that has a bunch of weak / gutted teams.. that is unless an owner takes over and rights the ship..

KC is right. Let's say Appalachians owner runs into some financial difficulties. Loses a job or something (I certainly hope this doesn't happen ofcourse)and decides that after the season to just let GLB go by the wayside... Suddenly they are a gutted team. It's not unlike real life football insofar as you will have some teams being dominant for a time and then slink back into obscurity only to be replaced by other teams, who knows maybe they will return to primacy again at some point. The big difference from real life football is in the constant selling/renaming of teams, and the relegation and promotion of teams. Even in the pro level tier your gonna have two new teams in the league and two teams are gonna get dropped back. There is no solution to this because otherwise there is no chance to get your team to the pro level. My dream for the Kittens is to see them playing at the pro level for at least one season. Ideally, even being dominant at that level.

say link does go by the wayside.. due to inactivity.. u know.. his wife left him.. he's homeless.. he finds a guy with a cardboard box on the corner of appleton and mayberry st. and sleeps with him for food.. hopefully someone would pick up on his inactiveness simply by lookin' @ the last time the owner logged in.. report him to admin staff..and then voila.. u have a new owner..
now if the existing players dont wanna stay and the owner has to get new players..the whole transitioning may hurt the team's record.. which makes 'em a weaker team hence thye move down.. they'd move down to a level as to where they can compete and aim at movin' back up again..

i guess one can say im somewhat lookin' at a pyramid system.. except its a pyramid system per region.. everyone's fightin' to get to a the top.. and fightin' not to get dead last in the league..

so if all goes well u've got a bunch of gutted teams with no sense of direction layin' low at the bottom.. while u got the best of the best @ the top.. the teams in the middle are tryin to advance

Welcome to the league. It may be a tougher road than starting with an expansion team. But you couldn't have landed in a better league. I hope you enjoy it here, and good luck with re-building.
