That is a very good point. A lot will depend of whether or not Bort adjusts how we upgrade Advanced equipment. It's still a fairly new idea and perhaps there is some hope.

Does it give a boost to just the Catching ability or does it help every skill related to being able to catch a ball such as Jumping, Confidence, Vision, and whatever else is included? If it effects everything at once it might be more valuable than what our primary skill currently gives us now with our original equipment. Even if it takes a long time to upgrade.
That's the kicker. If its just (CATCHING * .05) it's hardly useful and not really worth the investment.
