I may be answering my own question in asking this because you made the forum and by all means you can do whatever you see fit with it and thats totally understandable.. But what I was wondering is How can someone who admits to not being an expert..Says their team is average at best and just likes to help people in any way that he can Blacklist users and have them go through this process like they are applying for some top secret government job.

If you were as helpful as you say you were..then your forum wouldnt be full of "Experts" who know all of that already..Instead it would have those who arent or dont believe themselves to be experts so they can get help..because that is what those experts do anyway right..Help?

Well we have a voting process. I am just one out of dozens of votes on who's in and who's out. I like to think that I'm humble in my explanation but I do know quite a bit about the game. I GMed for 20 teams at one point last season. So I've OCed and/or DCed for about 200+ games in my 4+ seasons on GLB. Does this qualify me as an expert? That's up for debate. But the larger point of the forum is just to get experts' opinions. These guys ask us instead of posting in the main forums of GLB. To be perfectly frank, there is very little "top secret" information if any at all. It's more or less just a place where top notch guys can come and learn the smaller details of the game and in turn, share what they've come to learn.

As for our blacklisting policy, I realize it's a harsh term. But truly average users of GLB don't seem to be understanding the inherent trait to an exclusive forum. How is it fair to let just about anybody in AND have the forum work as an "Experts" forum? If we loosen our standards, then the content of the forum becomes diluted.

And again, I point out our voting process. At first yes, it was strictly up to me who joined and that got us our first 30 to 40 users. All of whom were people I considered the very best:
Mods, multiple championship winners, and guys I considered to be household names of GLB. After that, we started our voting process which gives each Expert the option of voting down (-1), voting up (+1) or no opinion (0) each and every person who wants access.

So Experts helping Experts might be a more apt forum title, but it doesn't sound quite as badass, does it?

not sure if this has been said yet, but I'm not sure who would want to be in a private forum with a bunch of ego-maniacal people who all consider themselves "experts." I really can't think of a bigger joke in existence in GLB.

You know what - I just want to add my name to the list of 'wannabee experts' just for the hell of it. I'm pretty sure I'll be going for the lowest ever score in the voting, but that'll mean I'll have achieved more than most of the people you've already let in to your arse kissing club..........

I have led my team to at least the second round of the playoffs every season since season 1. The players I own are SWEET!! I scour the forums at least 2-3 hours a day. I'm GMing 3 teams currently besides the one I own.

Not the case at all. Our "Experts" forum is quite the contrary...we have normal people who just know some stuff about GLB, thats all. We dont bite or anything
