A 'gold package' gets you all the perks plus ability to own more teams as well. You can purchase a month at a time... or a year... or more. The better the package and the longer the length of purchase, the more it costs but the much better value you get for your dollar spent.
For GLB it'd probably be something like this;
Package 1 would get you team ownership or 5 dots (2 100's, 2 200's, and one 300).
Package 2 would get you team ownership AND 5 dots OR 10 dots (see above)
Package 3 would get you 2 teams ownership and 10 dots OR 40 dots...
(ect, ect.)
There's probably a better way to make the packages but you get the idea. And length of package ownership could also vary from a month purchase to, perhaps, a 5 year purchase (for those with money and time and no plans for the next five years).

by season instead of by month would work better but not a bad alternative if GLB was focused on customer service, which they are not

So the smoking gun in Cornblade's hand belongs to DD?

I don't think that is a gun in Cornblade's hand.

I used to care about GLB... Now, I'm not sure that I could care less...

Reasons why, in no particular order:

1) Bort stopped caring (Or at least stop showing that he cared)
2) GLB became stale (A lot of great ideas not implemented or labeled NGTH)
3) Prices remained too high (Especially after that other football game came out)
4) The lame excuses for not taking care of the above 3 items

Why am I still here?

Because of my current commitments to my teams... When my commitments are done Bort can keep my left over flex and put it wherever he likes.

I understand the concept of a subscription service, but only as it pertains to the entire site.

If you make things "more affordable" or give people "more players for their money" for the subscription, what do you do for someone like me who has an ungodly number of active dots based on the shameful amount of money I've already spent. I should be able to have a good number of dots going for years based on GLB's current pricing structure, and I've PAID for that.

I would like to know how that converts to making my players "more affordable" or gives me "more players for my money" based on money I've already spent.

This is complicated stuff, because if you run off the people who already have the money invested into the game just so you can bring in new people to get them invested, you still have the problem of not enough active people around to keep people playing and you also run off the loyal userbase who has already paid you for services.

Yeah... a 'grandfather clause' would HAVE to happen for the many like you (haole) that have a LOT of flex still left from heavy investment. Still, you realize of course, that WG is in no way inclined to keep GLB going just because some here have a SH*t-load of flex in their banks. Once it becomes a cash drain on the company that they can no longer justify, it's toast. Those of us with flex left will be re-directed to GLB1 and MB or politely thanked for our time here and left to our own devices.

I'm almost sure I heard about this game through an Ad on Roosterteeth.com about 6 or 7 years ago. Me, and all my old video gaming buddies from the roosterteeth community hopped on here with a few teams and dove right in excitedly.

So my main question is, why don't the Administration pay a couple of sites to advertise for them? I promise, from experience and knowing the type of guys in the roosterteeth community, that if there was an ad posted there again, there would be a noticeable increase in rookie and peewee league next season. Pay a few more sites to advertise for you, and you've got a huge line of dots in the pipeline again.

This game awesome, but no one knows about it. So when I see that admin say dumb shit like "Finding new players is like extracting teeth from a goldfish," I got to disagree. Do what every other good game does and pay for marketing. It literally rules the world these days.

If you need a marketing guy, my roommate will have a marketing degree in 2 weeks.. lol

At this point the marketing strategy is pretty far gone. It's like advertising Madden 04 today. The boom has passed.

The best ads for their new games will be from retweets by people in the gaming community on twitter. Honestly I don't even believe ads do that much for games anymore unless you have tits basically falling into your lap.

The first thing that bort needs to do is reassure people that this game isn't going to disappear to restore faith in the user base. Then he should lower flex prices, even if it's temporary, to find what the actual value of flex is to the user base. There is a good chance he is losing money at the current rates. Third, they need to evaluate the other costs that go into this game. Monetary is only one of them.
The player creation time and upkeep is too much for time constrained users. The psychological cost of team upkeep needs to be weighed in as well. This game should not feel like a 2nd or 3rd job.

They have already reassured everyone that the lights will be kept on till its not viable to keep the servers running anymore. They aren't going to just disappear.
