Yeah, those were big. We had one that really hurt us against ATL. It amazes me that the dots can go the first 7+ levels without fumbling and such, but all of a sudden they cough it up. Penalties are the same. We have had a number of false starts on 3rd and 2 lately. It sucks! You guys had me worried for today. I didn't know how we were going to score and take some pressure off of Fu's D, but field position proved key for us. I'm sure we'll get another scrim in against you guys this season. Looking forward to it.

You did fine! As I said in the alumni forum, there were just too many penalties and losing the ball twice gave them a 14 to 28 point swing depending on how you look at it. Worst first quarter I've ever seen our dots play gave them a runaway that we never caught up from.

Our D line guys are trained to jump without touching.

Juice's first season of O AI was this season. As most of you know we lost our O AI mid season last season which cost us some big hits. Juice has been doing a fantastic job.

We each had our fair share of penalties, you with 7 giving 30 yards and us with 4 giving 20 yards. We need to work on that asap.

Hmm. That doesn't make sense unless I'm missing something.
The minimum penalty is 5 yards so 7 penalties times the minimum equals... 35 yards, correct?
Just sayin.

It was 7 for 35. Sick was so excited with the victory that he had trouble typing. Please forgive him.

6 were on offense and took me out of third and short for 30 yards. The other one was a defensive one that followed immediately on an offensive one and nullified their disadvantage, so it was really 6 for 30 to 3 for 15. :-)

This is what I've noticed with our penalties -- they come at 3rd and short a ton. That becomes killer. We had one guy with 3 false starts all in one half I believe. It's maddening and drive killing.

Has anyone else noticed that penalties come in pairs a lot as well? I've seen a lot of 1st and 20's or one team get a false start and it's immediately followed by an encroachment penalty. Weird stuff.

I've noticed that a lot, too. Wonder why that is...

Or the same player will commit several in a game, but not commit any for games before and after that one.

Supposedly relates to morale. I notice that even if vision is decent, a player with low confidence seems to be repeat offenders.

We've all been hit with the third and shot "drive killer" penalty. It always seems to come in the close games too.
