And, while we have touched on the Bible, I find it incredibly convenient that those who take it literally to support their condemnation of homosexuality decide that the portions of it that decree what should be eaten, or what punishments should be applied to various crimes, or that a man's brother should marry his brother's widow are archaic. The decree against homosexuality was made at a time when the Jewish population was weak and depleted after their enslavement in Egypt and mgnified by their desire to not intermarry with local tribes. It was important at that time to repopulate (a problem we are not experiencing at this time) and maintain their orthodoxy in order to survive as a group. Or so they believed. To try and extrapolate that out of its historical context is an exercise in inaccuracy.

It's a great book with great lessons to be learned from it, but following it as a life-guide with no regard for how the second half of it culminates in a message of love toward all is slavishly simple-minded.

I wish everybody would let everything go. We did not say gays could not be together, we did not own slaves, and I definitely did not keep my wife or any woman from working.

Don't get me wrong, in the future you may be right. But right now, prejudice is still strong. These only clubs seem racist or sexist, but in reality, usually they have a goal. Gays still cannot marry in many states. Black people are still treated differently because of color alone. Middle Easterners are getting called terrorists for their religion and race alone. When there is no longer descrimination, this will be gone.

Currently, you can see the discrimination in this very thread. Not from you, true, but from a hell of alot of people. A gay football team definitely has something to prove. So the way I see it, let them prove it.

Also for the record most gay clubs allow straight people in, if that person wishes to fight for gay rights.

I lied, this post is good too.

I'm a straight male, and I've been to gay clubs quite alot. I know a lot of people who go their with their girlfriends or just big groups of girls, the chance of getting a drunk sleezy dick hitting on them is very minimal. If a gay guy approaches you, tell them youre straight.

Same with this thread, why are so so many people hating on him for wanting to do something? It's a thread promoting a gay team, if you're so homophobic, don't open the thread.
