Starting HB for the Bellevue Blitz here, we started the year off slow and we are finally getting it together. I'm feeling pretty good about my team's chances at making the playoffs and we've already played four of the best teams in west Badlands, Nation, Gunslingers and the Man-Whores. I think we'll give the Badlands a better game next time we play them.

Yeah, that happened to us when we played you.

Game 8 Predictions

Seattle Spartans at Badlands Abomination - Does Seattle stand a chance climbing into The Cage? No. My pick: Badlands

San Diego Savages at New Orleans Nation - Much like Seattle vs Badlands, San Diego has no hope of beating The Nation inside the dome. My pick: New Orleans

Northwest Nighthawks at Los Angeles Gauchos - Scrappy L.A. is overmatched in this game. They'll put up a fight, but eventually lose by 14. Look for NW QB Dorsey to have a big game. My pick: Northwest

*Game of the Day* The Screaming Snails at Gilead Gunslingers - The Snails' offense will be looking to vent some frustration after being silenced by Badlands. Gilead is talented from top to bottom, but may get caught resting on their laurels after destroying Oklahoma City. Look for the upset here. My pick: The Snails

Sante Fe at Tulsa Scorpions - I was foolish to pick against Sante Fe last week. After decisively beating Gilead and Biloxi back to back, they are the hottest team in BBB10 right now. Tulsa will struggle to score. My pick: Sante Fe

Oklahoma City Red Rangers at Biloxi Dirty Man-Whores - Oklahoma City needs to find a way out of the league cellar. They won't do it against a powerful Biloxi team seeking redemption from the loss to Sante Fe. My pick: Biloxi

Orange Maners at Bellevue Blitz - This is the 2nd game I look forward to. This game is crucial in both teams quest for that 8th playoff seed. Both are evenly matched down the depth chart. It will come down to who has the least amount of turnovers. My pick: Bellevue

Charlestown Chiefs at Oakland BlackReign - Charlestown needs a big win here to help their playoff hopes. I'd like to say something positive about Oakland, but they haven't shown me anything all season. My pick: Charlestown

Week 6 - 8 for 8
Week 7 - 6 for 8

15 Tampa Tiger Sharks 1-6-0 L4
16 Whitchurch Mouseketeers 1-6-0 L6

Preview of week: Week 8 marks the halfway point for the season. It also symbolizes the importance of playoff positioning. There are 10 teams in the Eastern Conference looking to secure their playoffs spots and battling for playoff seeding. This week brings us some very important matchups for several teams in their hunt for playoffs. NewDawn travels to Denver to face the Stallions in the game of the week. Pittsburgh gets to play host to the Warlords from Indianapolis. Both of these games are very important for all teams involved as it provides excellent opportunities for the teams to improve their playoff positions. Upset alert has Virginia going into the Bay Area where they will need to really stay sharp to make sure they get a win.

(Rankings taken from official polls, not Power Ranking)
#4 Charm City Headset Jockie vs. #16 Whitchurch Mouseketeers
#15 Tampa Tiger Sharks vs. #2 Ludlow Lions
#14 Greensboro Tsunami vs. #6 Big 12 Champions
#7 Denver Stallions vs. #8 NewDawn Thrashing Badgers (GotW*)
#3 Florida LightningBolts vs. #13 Lake Erie Menace
#1 Birmingham Bombers vs. #11 Northeast Storm
#10 Pittsburgh Deatons vs. #9 Indianapolis Warlords
#12 Bay Area Wolfpack vs. #5 Virginia Wolverines

Matchups:
#4 Charm City Headset Jockie (5-2) vs. #16 Whitchurch Mouseketeers (1-6)
The most underachieving team in the Eastern conference travels to Charm City to take on the Headset Jockies. Although Whitchurch is very talented on paper, they have accomplished nothing outside of 'keeping games close' this season. They are losers of 6 straight and have put up an amazing offensive mark of 4.6pts/game through that stretch. While I would love to pick the upset because of Whitchurch's potential.. Charm City has actually proven they can beat someone. If Charm City can score 17 they should be fine. If Whitchurch can keep them below 17 and get out of this horrific offensive slump.. they 'might' have a shot. Unfortunately for Whitchurch, Charm City is looking to get as high of a playoff seed as they can.. and they will be ready.

**Key matchup: mrdisney's 28 owned Whitchurch players vs. the top 28 Charm City players. Whitchurch may be the perfect example of money not buying success.
Prediction: 17-10 Charm City

#15 Tampa Tiger Sharks (1-6) vs. #2 Ludlow Lions (5-1-1)
Well Tampa's season will not be getting any better this week as they are forced to bring in the dominant Lions of Ludlow. Ludlow's defense might be playing the best team defense in the Eastern Conference as of late. They have held opponents to 7.4pts/game over the past 5 games. This includes explosive offenses like Big 12, Charm City, and Florida, whom they held to a season low 7 points last week. Tampa will not be able to move the ball consistently enough against the Lion defense and will continue their spiral towards the #16 spot in the league. This one might not be pretty. If Tampa can keep it close.. maybe.. but.. not likely.

**Key matchup: Tampa's Lefty Stabler vs. Ludlow's secondary. Lefty has thrown 3 tds with 8 picks on the season. If he turns the ball over against Ludlow.. the game will be a wrap. If he doesn't.. they will still probably lose, but it would at least give them a chance.
Prediction: 24-10 Ludlow

#14 Greensboro Tsunami (1-6) vs. #6 Big 12 Champions (5-2)
Greensboro has shown steady sign of improving over the past few weeks. However, they do not seem to be improving fast enough to take on the conference's upper-tier teams. This week they get to face on of the better Eastern Conference franchises in Big 12. The Champions are not happy to be sitting at #6 in the official polls and are going to come out focused on getting back into the top of half of the playoff picture. Raul Manning and Sticky Hand have shown they can be an explosive punch offensively, but they will have to see the field in order to contribute. Big 12's punishing offensive line (30 pancakes/game from starters) will make seeing the field extremely difficult for Greensboro. Big 12 will utilize a brutal running attack and control the pace of the game. Greensboro has to score early against dominant running teams like Big 12 in order to make them play from behind a bit. If Big 12 scores first.. they can and will control the rest of the game.

**Key matchup: The over/under on Big 12 pancakes. Vegas has 42.. i'm taking the over.
Prediction: 21-7 Big 12

#7 Denver Stallions (5-2) vs. #8 NewDawn Thrashing Badgers (4-2-1) (GotW*)
This should be an intense battle. Both teams have the opportunity to help themselves into playoffs by beating a fellow playoff contender. These teams are very similar in style and talent. Both teams have quality players in their offensive skill positions and solid defenses. NewDawn has a pretty strong secondary with a pair of very good safeties. Denver has shown the ability to have success on the ground, as well as, through the air. They will need a successful ground attack to compliment their passing game in this one. This game will be about execution and game plan.

**Key matchup: E-roc Dizzle vs. NewDawn's secondary. If E-roc can find his playmakers on a regular basis NewDawn will be in some trouble. If he turns the ball over and limits Denver offensive possessions it will be game over.
Prediction: 24-21 Denver

#3 Florida LightningBolts (5-2) vs. #13 Lake Erie Menace (1-6)
Florida will be coming off a very tough loss to Ludlow. They get to play in the comforts of the Thunder Dome and those two factors spell bad news for Lake Erie. The Menace has shown definite strides of improvement of the past 5 weeks. They have a long road ahead of them before they look to turn the corner but improvement is a good sign. Florida is one of the premier franchises in the East and it is going to take Lake Erie playing mistake free football AND a bit of luck to win this game. Florida is explosive, fast, and well coached. Look for "White Shoes" Johnson and Kaitani Riku to have big days.
**Key matchup: Florida's explosive running game vs. The Lake Erie front 7.

#1 Birmingham Bombers (7-0) vs. #11 Northeast Storm (2-5)
The Storm from the Northeast travel to Birmingham this week to face the Bombers. The worst defensive team in the conference must face one of the most successful rushing attacks. Northeast has managed two wins against lower-tier competition but have given up an average of 35 points to teams ranked in the top 10. Northeast will have to find ways to put points on the boards against the Bombers. If they can get their offensive unit to click and can force a TO or two, an actual storm, or US military intervention.. anything to not give up points.. they have a definite chance.

**Key matchup: Barry Jukes vs. The Storm defensive line. Can the Storm slow the conference's number 2 rusher?
Prediction: 27-13 Birmingham

#10 Pittsburgh Deatons (3-4) vs. #9 Indianapolis Warlords (4-3)
This is the second truly intriguing/important matchup this week for the Eastern conference. Pittsburgh really needs a win to establish themselves as a true contender for a playoff spot. Indianapolis also really needs a victory to make sure they are in the thick of things in the upcoming weeks. With their next two games coming against Ludlow and NewDawn and having to end the conference schedule Charm City and Florida, Pittsburgh is going to have to find wins wherever they can. The Warlords are going to come into this game and do what they do best.. throw the football. Pittsburgh might have the best CB duo in the league with Sean Fick and Captain Awesome. It will be vital for Pittsburgh to have these two guys step up and play well against the Warlords. If they can limit the Indianapolis passing game.. Pittsburgh has a great shot to pull off the win.

**Key matchup: Pittsburgh's cornerbacks against Indianapolis's wide receiver's. Can the Deaton's slow the attack and stop the big plays?
Prediction: 23-21 Pittsburgh

#12 Bay Area Wolfpack (1-6) vs. #5 Virginia Wolverines (5-2)
The Wolverines of Virginia head to the Bay Area to face the Wolfpack. Two very different styles face off in this matchup. The pass heavy Wolfback face a rush heavy counterpart. This game will be about which teams defense can stop the other team's offensive style. In this matchup, that advantage easily goes to Virginia. The Wolverines have some definite playmakers in the defensive backfield. Bay Area's defensive line is pretty average and will have trouble stopping Virginia's running game on a regular basis. Ace Rocket will have to be effecient and gives Willis 85 chances to make plays if the Wolfpack expect to win.

**Key matchup: The Wolfpack's Tank Johnson and Johnny Ruthless against the Wolverine offensive line combo of Jeff Logan and Pancakes Maker.
Prediction: 17-7 Virginia

Not an overly exciting week for the Eastern Conference.. at least not for some teams. For teams battling for playoff position.. this week is extremely important and will help clarify teams who have a legitimate shot.. from those who are just hanging around.

*May try to do my first post-game review this week.. but we will see.

I have an interview segment that I plan on doing "weekly" or "biweekly." Not sure if it would ever turn into something like a postgame report...

Check out the two interviews if you haven't already. They have their own threads in USA BBB

Bdizzle, your segment is a great read man. and i hope you keep it up. brings a lot more life to this game. And as far as post game summaries go, a person from the winning team each week should right up a summary for that game so one person isnt stuck with it all.

just an idea

Bolts get back on trck with a 43-0 shutout of Lake Erie. Team almost had 3 rbs rush for over 100 yrds only 5 yrds shy for 1.

Big news was PR Whiteshoes returned his 4th punt for a Td this season and has already eclipsed the 1,000 yrd mark for the season in return yrds.
Last season he won the award for highest average and the only TD in Canada AAA and is at it again this season so far.

Hello sports fans and welcome back to the 3BSN Sunday Night Scorecard. Let’s get right to the action with two teams seemingly moving in opposite directions. The Lions roared into Tampa riding a 5 game winning streak and the Sharks are desperately trying to right the ship as victims of a dirty little streak of their own.

Early in the first quarter it’s the sharks drawing first blood as Capt. Stabbin shows the flashes of brilliance that make him the centerpiece of this offense in growth. On a little “go” route he out leaps Ludlow CB Whozyo Daddy and takes it 64 yards to the house.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=2751944

In the first quarter Ludlow can't seem to get the offense in gear. Tampa threatening again, but it is this costly mistake in the red zone that allows FS McClinttock to make a play and shut down the drive.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=2752352

Ludlow still unable to focus their offense need a boost, and it comes by way of Ray Burns in the second quarter as this Tampa punt is returned 83 yards for pay dirt.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=2752704

But on the very next drive Indasack's 34 yarder gives Tampa the lead back. Unfortunately for the sharks, this second quarter FG is the their last score in the game. Though the Sharks play tough and keep most drives out of the endzone, in the end it is the big boot of Ludlow kicker LJ Footy and his five for five FG performance that nails it shut.

Teams have had limited success running the ball against Ludlow and this game was no different, with Tampa Bay gaining 52 yards on the ground. This forced Stabler and his posse to the air where the ball hawks were waiting. The Shark quarterbacks were picked off three times making for a long day.

So both teams' streaks continued. We'll be back after this...

The Nation smacked around the Savages tonight on their way to 8-0. The Savages drop to 2-6 and are on a 4 game losing streak. Some stats:

New Orleans managed over 550 yards of total offense compared to San Diego's 141.5. Fletcher Westbrook topped the 1,000 yard mark with yet another 100 yard performance. Bloq Hed scored twice giving him 11 rushing TDs for the season.

Defensively, the Nation held San Deigo to -1.5 yards rushing and 143 passing yards. Tim Donaghy, Mybetteris betterthanyourbetter, and z brown lead all Savage defenders with 8 tackles apiece.

After the game, Westbrook told reporters, "Man...it hurts...it hurts to be the best..."

The Nation get a taste of their own medicine with the Nighthawks rushing attack and stiffling defense coming at them in week 9. Next up for San Diego: another undefeated dominant team, the 8-0 Badlands.
