Mass Effect... what a great game.

Definitely.

Shame they abandoned it to make a sequel.

Oh, that would be interesting.

Could also compare it side by side to other games that came out in 2008, like the first Mass Effect, a Guitar Hero game, or Warhammer Online.

I'm getting a strong vibe of sarcasm

Wasn't sarcastic at all.

I think it would help put the life span, and assumed abandonment of GLB Classic into perspective.

Two of those games have folded in that time frame, the other has had two sequels and is working on a third (along with releasing several other games, including an MMO).

Or, we could just go by this list and compare which ones still have a dedicated development.
http://www.imdb.com/search/title?sort=moviemeter&title_type=game&year=2008,2008

It's mindblowing seeing some of those titles. Dead Space? Dead Space 3 came out recently.

Fable 2? A third Fable came out, and the main guy behind them left and created his new company, and has released two games.

Command and Conquer Red Alert 3? There's been two other CnC games since then, and the entire series has pretty much been discontinued in the time frame between GLB Classic and GLB2's release.

Along with your timeline Dub J should make his own and we can compare the two perspectives of admin and user

At some point GLB should lower the cost of flex to play and let those that hang around at least enjoy the game at a discounted rate.
