Having talked with Ezra casual does require skill but a very different type than WL which makes sense. I would say WL builds on top teams are the best then some of the top casual teams have builds comparable to some middle/lower tier WL teams. WL teams scout a certain way and casual is very different, from what I can understand it is like trying to reverse engineer your opponent's AI and then putting a plan in to shut it down. Ezra has a very sophisticated scouting setup geared specifically for casual. I think most WL teams who go to casual haven't really considered that it requires a lot of work to be really good at it, but the work is a very different type than they are used to. So a WL team could have better builds than Ezra's team, but he wins because his tactics and scouting setup are superior, which you would not think would be a factor in casual, but it is. Whether cernet's team used any of this I don't know but then that is about the best collection of builds that I have ever seen in this game.

I don't see any casual pro gold trophies for him...but i see a couple from different WL owners?

It's amazing that you've had success at this game yet the vast majority of the userbase has never heard of you. Obviously you're a scrub.

But I do find it funny that you post that shit when everyone knows that you set up your AIs based on what you did against common opponents under the guise of coordinating for other DS teams beforehand. Not calling it collusion or anything...

Shut up, Dub J. Don't talk shit about DS throwing games.

Oh wait...

But seriously, no one gives a fuck about that WL shit. GLB stopped being about the actual game a couple of years ago. It's about the forums.

Snakes is cool as fuck. Dude hooked me up all season long in WL as a sounding board, scouted, and generally acted as classy as can be to my shit WL team.

Hood Jelly did the same. So did Tomicic.

If there ever was a lesson to be learned in how to be graceful from the top down, it's led by these three.Originally posted by bhall43

Yeah but I don't pretend to have dots better than Taut and Cernet. At some point, they just own. That applied to WL as well.

Solution to networks is making the GLB building process more intuitive and actually advertising for new customers (who will enjoy the game, unlike current nubes that learn they need to pump 3 attributes for 9 months or they are told to "retire", which isn't fun at all as a new person playing this game). That isn't gonna happen, but this is the major thing that stops GLB from ever "growing" again.

A far far far 2nd, is making some good build guides (teaching good build processes) and making them free and widespread, teaching correct building concepts, not cookie-cutter results. This ends up with more people being able to build good dots.

Regardless, while networks don't help the problem, I think the huge disparity between player building abilities, and the ever declining userbase are far bigger issues to GLB, not just long term, but in the coming seasons.

Hell, I've owned an independent team that has had 3 crackpot farm teams in 32 seasons (which I've gotten like 35 dots off of in total). The rest is all PLFT recruiting. I can imagine a scenario where at some point in the coming seasons I won't be able to field a team. And if I can't field a team from PLFT, almost no one can. That is the death of the game, and it's coming sooner or later tbph. Had a good run ldo.

Bort and/or his staff don't have the knowledge to be able to do this.

Dumbing down the build process wouldn't help much.

It would admittedly make it marginally more appealing (though most people still aren't going to like the game), and it would CRUSH longevity for people who do like the game.
