Either stay where you have earned your spot, or drop to AA (or minors) and regroup. I realize there are considerations of trying to get the next group of dots the best chance for playing the right season (guessing season 17?) in the WL, but that's an agent/team planning issue, not a GLB team promotion/demotion issue.

If a team folds or drops to AA, then so be it, and Bort can hand-pick a replacement under whatever criteria I suppose. Would be better if there were an objective solution but given that WL is just one league it's not a terrible situation.

IMO bort should use your rankings to select the next best Pro team.

It's in the best interests of the World League to make such concessions. You get an extra team here who has a chance to be competitive, and you don't end up with a bunch of 255-0 outcomes. Moreover, I already know that there are plenty of open spots available in CPL, so it's not like someone has to get bumped to accommodate us.

For the record I have no problem staying here. Just trying to help all leagues be as competitive as possible.

But I do think that WL teams should have an option to drop down to Pro. They earned a spot in the WL, if they are going to be competitive in Pro when retooling, it makes much more sense to send them to Pro rather than AAA or AA where they dominate and create unbalance.

Why should a WL team demote two spots when retooling unless they request that? That is worse than missing the playoffs, and this promotes the idea that if you are in the last season of your players careers on a WL team and you know you aren't going to win the whole thing, it is better to tank the season and demote to Pro, rather than play to the best of your ability and demote to AAA or AA.

It's the absolute exact scenario as a team winning their pro conference and then refusing their WL spot - they've earned a spot in the WL. What if NBA Jam asked to drop down? What if Mayan did? I was under the impression Kai's first choice was to remain in SAPL, but that's being disallowed.

If Bort's going to tell the pro teams they MUST promote, then WL teams need to be in the same boat. I don't think Providence is trying to abuse the system here, but we don't have a safeguard to promise that. If Providence won pro next season it would be absurd to have let them drop down. GLB Team owners, as a group, have shown they will abuse any system you let them, so let's not open another door for abuse.

So you give my team shit for accepting a promotion when I had to sign over 35 players just to fill a roster and use the saying well go recruit! But now because it doesn't work for you, you take the mangina route and puss out and look to bail. Maybe you should recruit? You really are a fraud...

The Kai was never going to refuse promotion, they just like people to talk about them.

Honestly I would rather have a competitive team here over one that will clearly lose by 100+ every game. The point of not allow people to decline promotion was so one team can't just keep winning Pro. It's different when a team loses its whole roster and has no chance to be competitive. I don't know how much younger the dots he's bringing in are, but as long as they aren't owning the Pro leagues, then I think it would be fair to have them move down so we can get a better team up here in their place.
