qfretardedness.

While I don't think they should show sympathy to the armed forces, as that is the life they choose. However, it is unfair to disrespect anyone for serving their country, as that is the most honorable profession to choose.

If its going to happen, it should be across the board!

18 pages is a lot to read in one sitting!

As far as I can tell, here's the best beer to come out of this brew of suggestions regarding long-term inactivity:
- When the time comes, you submit your account for Leave of Absence.
- The length of the Leave of Absence is at minimum 2 seasons, and is to be demarcated in seasons. You cannot say 100 GLB days, but rather a certain number of seasons.
- During this Leave of Absence, no one can log in to your account and train your players.
- Your players can be released from their teams without chemistry hit.
- Your players cannot be signed or re-signed, to prevent them being used as placeholders.
- You lose team ownership immediately if you have not transferred it to a GM; procedures apply from there (any GM who is in long standing can buy the team, or the team goes into the pot for offseason purchasing).
- Your players do not gain any training points, daily cash, bonuses, game XP or daily XP.
- Your players have their decline postponed for every day you are offline.
- Your account does not receive any bonus Flex Points for holidays or seasons; in essence, it is dormant.
- When you log back in for the first time after your Leave of Absence, you message support to remove your account from dormancy.
- Once support has been notified, they will remove all the Leave of Absence restrictions.
- Your players will have new "created" dates to reflect when your plateau will start. So if you created a player on Season 2, Day 10 and the Leave of Absence was for 3 seasons, your new "created" date is Season 5, Day 10, so that plateau is initiated 3 seasons later.

What do you guys think?

No, it needs to be a set number of real life days. I would prefer if it begin at 90 days(3 months) and have an option to run anywhere up to 180 days(6 months). This would make it a lot easier for an agent to remember the amount of time until they can log in, if they get back and want to activate their account.

EDIT: And get rid of the support part of it-it could take up to a week for them to reply, so just have a button to press, which asks you if you want to activate the account.

You sir, get the WHYLO award, Who Helped You Log On?

Suggestion is a good one, and even as a longtime Soldier, I do not think it should be made specifically to favor military, should apply to all equally.

It was said earlier in the thread that there was an issue with days vs seasons; if an agent ended his Leave of Absence in the middle of a season and got signed, it might tilt the balance of that season due to unprecedented and unwarranted moves. Waiting until the season ends would mean the teams had the correct/adequate time to prepare for moves like this.

That being said, I don't have a qualm one way or the other. Days are more reasonable because they're easier to measure; seasons are more reasonable because the rest of the league can adjust at the correct time.

I was thinking it would be something like the "rename" link for our players, where we just notify that we want to activate and someone like euchrid says "ok green light" and revives the account from dormancy.
