Honolulu owner here. Sorry it took a little while for me to get into this thread, but it took longer than expected to finish off my dates with all ya'lls girlfriends. By the way, the team name comes from the surf instructors on Waikiki beach not the band. I thought I'd point that out and let you know we're not going to take any shit over the name. When I'm through in Japan, hopefully I'll be moving back to Honolulu. So the team name is just one more thing to get me excited about returning home in 3 months.
I guess I could have called the team something a little harder like the Honolulu Homeless or Honolulu Meth Addicts. Those are two other well known features of the city to the locals.

Well, I came over here on a government program that is easily the best English teaching gig in Japan (pay-wise, hours-wise, and free time). However, you have to accept the position before you are placed. You don't get to choose where you go. You can state your preference, but you rarely get it. I wanted to go to Sendai City or one of the northern prefectures so I could ski in the winter, not come to an island smaller than the one I already came from!

So, the long and short is that I basically got screwed when they placed people where they wanted them and ended up in one of the least convenient placements in Japan (barring even smaller, more remote islands).
The only reason I've stayed as long as I have is the girl I found living here. If I didn't have her I would have quit and went home to make twice as much money as I do. But at least here I save 70% of my salary and pay no taxes. I don't spend much because there is nothing to do except play on the internet or play sports with the students everyday. That sucks in the winter though! How inconvenient is my island? Well, I have to take a 4 hr ferry ride just to get to one of the main islands of Japan. And, I can't even buy or rent a DVD on this island without using the internet.
I've already told my gf that staying on this island for a 3rd year was a big mistake for me socially and mentally. I'm so ready to GTFO and have a full life again, so I can probably relate to that aspect of military/prison life. I'm owned by this island and it's school, I'm their resident gaijin. She understands my feelings pretty well because she is also a teacher on this island and bored to tears. For now though we are each others only entertainment.

Ah that sucks least you have your girl there. My ex I met in Hawaii was actually from Yokohama and I went there for 2 weeks and saw a ton of shit. Japan is really beautiful but so crowded.

Week 4 in the BBB!!!
Going 15-1 last week (THANKS ALOT SLUGS... YOU PRICKS!!!) im aimming for a perfect 16-0 this week. As owners, GM's and players we dodged having to play yesterday in all the craziness of the bug that caused alot of teams that would have normally won to lose. So with the system being fixed i expect to see some really good games and perhaps the beginning shape of who are the alpha teams in this league start to form. As i look around i see some improvement, but still see teams who rather do nothing. As the weeks go by, we shall see those guys who put in nothing get nothing in return. So i will read, watch and look into these teams as i eat my sausage egg and cheese sandwich and my drink my coffee.
Tana River Ewoks vs. Possum Trot Plague
Really tough game to call. Both teams have done their homework and have a really nice base of players. Plagues start HB Jeffrey Policky Seems to be the driving force of their offense. 20 carries for 90 yards and a td in their last weeks win. Even tho the Plagues team hasnt been together for a long time, i see them winning a close one due to their Secondary shutting down the Ewoks passing game and of course their kicker scoring the most points this game
Possum Trot Plague Win 19 - 13
Chicago Inferno vs. Frankfurt Universe
Glad to see the Universe ownership finally getting to work with recruiting a team! kudos to you guys! Shame you didnt try sooner cause this weeks game the other team tried just a tad harder. Inferno's HB Tuffy Beastwich should run wild this week against a defense he outclasses. When he isnt running for daylight, excpect Brady Lead to Hit the Short routes with the newb WR's. all this adds up to...

Both teams here are fighting to move up into the top 4 of their division. Both teams are built well but have a few holes to fill or this years boat wont float. The Buffalo's have a gem of a QB in William Wilberforce to build around but for some reason the cheap ass owners havent given him anything to throw to. DE Leonidas Griffin is a beast but will still command the double and triple teams since he has no one else on the line to help him. Mr Vick, Rick Burns and the offensive line for the gay boys, i mean beach boys will dominate today and win a close one off of Alexandria Meat foot.

Timpanogos Thunder vs. Montana Crow
The crow have trimmed down some of the CPU players the were collecting from teh past few weeks with real players, but still have a ways to go. General Zod and Diesel Train look to be players to build around, but last i checked.... they dont play defense. Timpanogos Thunder have a nice core of players to grow with and after last weeks tough loss (which i predicted) i feel they are getting ready for primetime. With a well rounded team and also considered the underdog i pick...

The Chips are a sneaky 3-0 and are currently 4th in the East. But on further review of the team and its players i looked at their past. Everyone here knows buffalo hasnt won since the 90's and noramlly cant seal the deal. They played 3 of the weaker east teams and only outscored them 29 to 6 with 2 shutouts. In march the Chocolate City Saints who go over there.... oh over there.. when the saints go over there... sorry homer moment. Well while they are over there, they add to the mix of the East and get rid of one more undefeated team.

Philadelphia Pigeons vs. New Orleans Night Trippers
The pigeons have hired some scouts and got alot of players since the last time i checked em. Except normally the main thing you think of when you hear Philly is a Oline... keep up the good work guys and maybe you will get your first win... just not this week.

FC Hezbollah, after getting their turbans handed to them 2 weeks in a row finally got upset and shot and killed all their cpu players. If they done this sooner i could see them being 2-1 and working on being the powerhouse i thought they were from the preseason. Just goes to show you difference between good owners and great owners. Brooklyn comes back across the boarder and a killing of the tacos 37-3. Brooklyn who is still pissed off about the tecmo loss are looking to continue the steam rolling of the east to get back at the allstars...

Dang, I feel more pressure winning so I don't let dafus down with his predictions than letting the team down. Groucho, I think our game may be closer than the prediction. Hopefully, we'll be the team on top at the end of it. You guys are definitely a sneaky 3-0 team. Not many major star players, but as a team you guys are getting it done and winning.
