PeeWee Gold Season 119 Playoffs!

Here are some thoughts on this weeks games!

#1 Rome Gladiator Yaks vs. #8 Blitzin' Dots- Yaks should have little problem in kicking the Dots out of the playoffs. Yaks by 24

#2 Arctic Circle Grim Reapers vs. #4 Arctic Snow Bears- Great game here, Reapers have to be the slight favorite but either team could come out on top. Reapers by 10

#3 Philly Philly vs. #7 Mr. Coach Klines DOTS- Eagles didn't show their stuff last week and lost, but i expect they will cruise this week with that tough defense. Eagles by 17

#5 London Royal Monarchs vs #6 Irridescent Ditch Fish - We want to be the underdogs so you get #5. This could go either way, the Fish have had more post season luck in the past so have to be favorites by a small margin. I will say Fish by 3.

9. Crashin' Crew!- dnf

10. Berlin Mustaches-dnf

11. Idaho Muskrats- dnf

12. Buckhead Royal Knights- dnf

Irridescent Ditch Fish
The IDF passing game was in a class by itself over the course of the season and that's putting it mildly. A resurgence of bully ball has the number of pass attempts down across the league but taking nothing away from muddy water warriors they simply did it better than any one else in PW. On third and long I want IDF in the huddle calling the play

Rushing :

About 3 games into the season I sent 007 a `pm saying something along the lines of boy your run game is gon' be a whole problem. As it tuned out that was an understatement. ACGR was and is the rushing standard in PW. Averaging 60 carries a game and just a clip under 400 yards is insane production. The part you'll never see in the forums is coaches saying how beat up their defense was after playing them.

Receiving :
Irridescent Ditch Fish
This was a bit of a toss up in my opinion but in the end I had to give the nod to IDF because of their league leading 53 tds. 410.5 yards more production on 40 less catches than the 2nd place receiving corp is putting in work

Kick / Punt Return :

Before you ask NO I'm not a Birdman multi and I'm certainly not a fan of his ditch water fish sticks unless of course they're covered in tarter sauce. So how did I come to deciding who should represent the PW on special teams returns ? Touchdowns. The total number of touchdowns is far more significant than total yards. In that case IDF had 3 KR tds and 38 PR tds. Using this metric no other team came close enough to present and argument as to why they should be considered

Kicking / Punting

I didn't do the math and I'm not going to but I'm willing to bet the Shaun Redman is probably the leading scorer in the league. His 8 made fgs leads the league PLUS 179 extra points ? That's sauce fam, nah that's extra sauce. Imagine the crowd roaring so loud the cross bar looks like it's trembling. Redman walks out on to the field looking like he just got paid. Takes his customary 3 steps back and 1 and a half steps to the side. Deep breath......and boooosh 100% of the time. Yeah I want that dude in my huddle.

Defense

Not tackles, It's the missed tackles that are the biggest game changers. ACGR had 42 ! In a league with multiple teams playing bully ball with power backs high on roids 42 missed tackles means 007 has his finger on the pulse of how to play solid defense. 1st in pds - 285. 2nd in sacks - 44. 1st in sack yards - 189. 1st in hurries - 95 and a league low 42 missed tackles. Why am I regurgitating stats you all played him.

Blocking
Arctic Circle Grim Reapers
When you are leading the league in rushing by over 1000 yards the odds are in your favor that your team can block. At least 72 more pancakes than anyone else. ACGR is the new standard in PW
