I may be just a bitter former mod, but I do recall some people predicting this....

Doesn't exactly take Nostradamus to predict that the majority of people will prefer an easy to pick up intuitive game over a hardcore counterintuitive version of the same game.

There'll always be a subsection of people who prefer the latter, though. If the former existing makes it possible for the latter to continue existing, it seems pretty silly for the latter to hate the former.

By which accounts? The people in the GLB Classic dedicated private forums that you're part of, that are just as biased as you?

GLB2 has brought in several thousand users, whether those are new or old customers who quit GLB Classic because they were bored. GLB2 currently has more active users than GLB Classic.

The idea that GLB2 is a monumental failure only exists in your head.

It looks like I hit a nerve. Nothing you said shows that whatever new customers GL2 has brought in wouldn't have joined GLB1. And even if it has brought it some new users, you're spending money to run a game (how much do they pay for your salary?) that appeals to a substantially similar customer base when that same money could have been spent to create and a game aimed towards a different customer base. So, as I pointed out in my post, what euchrid claimed doesn't make sense.

And you should probably get your facts straight before getting your panties in a twist. If you even took the time to look, you'd see that I play GLB2. I also never said that it's a monumental failure. I enjoy the game, but think WG should have created a different game.

Never understood the hate of paying customers in "pay to win" online games. Those "wallet warriors" keep the lights on. There is no game otherwise.

Could someone do a timeline of GLB and call it the Rise and Fall of GLB1... you know include important events for example Catch22 or the abandonment of GLB1... that be nice.

Oh, that would be interesting.

Could also compare it side by side to other games that came out in 2008, like the first Mass Effect, a Guitar Hero game, or Warhammer Online.
