Well pt differential obviously is not the way to decide when all teams do not play each other.
I would rather play The U then some of the Silver Teams. Just my thoughts right now, that they are struggling.
How about MVP instead of MVT
Whatever Team has the most valuable player.
Like An offensive MVP and defensive. MVP.
The award goes to the Team that has recruited/built the most valuable dot.
Just something besides.

Hahahah you got fucked because you had to play the hardest teams available in the tourney, plus they boosted before you got to play them but another team got to play them un boosted.
But sure don't let our FCA game count cause we might take your MVT trophy
Put in my request for trophy #1 so I can get on down the road and maybe get it before S20

MVT is how we determine who plays who though and is a major part of the tourney... If you take that out then we would have to do random seeding every game?

Dtown, yeah your on to something.
Why don't we just petition all tournaments that the conventional seeding method sucks!
Then we can all debate for 5 pages of who should get a MVP Trophy. Uhh no.
The original rules are fine. Wins & Point differential works because it is purely result based. I'm not just saying this cause DIRTY is 2-0. I'm saying it cause it takes out the politics and if a team continues to win regardless of opponent how can that team be penalized?
LE made a great comment for making this an Invitational for next season. Other than that, it is a great tourny.

Sounds like your on to something, called LE's cock in every thread. (Be your own man and have some suggestions, not ride on others coat tails)
There are other ideas that can be implemented for equality whether you like it or not. I felt the same as Tombstone did last season, that the scheduling is going to determine the MVT, not the game play. Oh but you weren't here last season were you?

Well maybe we could do what LE said and make this an invitational so that we get the top 8 silver teams in pee wee and (hopefully) the top 8 gold teams so that there should really be some good competition not wins by 60+ from a gold team.

Have a small tourney on both sides for entry if at all plausible.Would be a suggestion.
Must have a bracket type set up? Winner and losing bracket? Kinda like the double elim.
So teams play like teams.
Right now, a team plays 1 scrub team or team that doesn't game plan. The team scores 100+ then can Cadillac?
I am curious to how the shuffle tourney worked? Is that still around? Maybe some ideas from several tourney's could be placed into 1, to make it unique. That might draw more attention from Gold Teams to enter.

I think problem 1 is there needs to be a vetting process for the silver teams. There have been some pretty bad silver teams playing in this tourney, IIRC last year was really bad.
Even with that said, I think if this tourney starts later you can have more time to gauge teams and then seed them. For example, the Atomic Cougars (sorry to pick on you), is losing silver league games by 50-60 points. What business do they have getting matched against an undefeated Gold team like SBWL? IMO, this tournament isn't about seeing who is better: gold or silver, that's a moot point. It's more about allowing good silver teams a chance to gauge themselves and improve; helping them prepare for their jump to gold.
IMO, this tournament becomes the most interesting (and useful to silver teams) when it matches very good silver teams (who actually have a legitimate shot at being in gold next year) with gold teams that will finish in 5th-10th place. The majority of good silver teams wouldn't expect to move into gold and win the league (although it has happened) and beat teams like Tombstone, FG, SBWL, etc.
What will help them is to play the teams that they will likely be battling for playoff spots. This year that would be teams like Wambulance, C3L, Whistle Pigs, AC Surf, Lonestar, etc. These are more valuable because a silver team can say "wow, this team is struggling to be a 6th or 7th seed and they're really tough or they just kicked my butt...I really need to improve if I'm going to make it in gold." Or maybe it's "Hey, I just beat a gold team that will likely make the playoffs, I have a good shot to compete next year!"
Beating a team like The U! who will wash out of gold after just 1 season, or getting destroyed by SWBL doesn't really mean much. You don't learn as much from it, and it doesn't really prove anything for either team.

Not only that........Add some reasonable substance to it, to make it fun, worth while and competitive to the fullest extent.
I am talking about for future reference, I do not give a damn what happens this season with the MVT.
Since the tourney was cut short have the top 2 teams of each division play each other for it, would be fair?

How about the top 4 have a mini tourney vs each other for MVT? (This season)

Ido 2 game tourny for MVT sounds gr8 if everyone agrees...
I think you'd see better matchups if you didn't feel the need to follow the Best plays Worst tourny scheme....
it should be round 1 Silver MVT vs round 1 Gold MVT, and round 1 Silver MVT runner up vs round 1 Gold MVT runner up, and so on and so forth..
This way... the higher your PD (therefore likely the easier your game was) the better opponent you have to play...
Yes I realize this would probably favor teams who play middle-of-the road schedules, but I think it would be quite a bit more accurate than as is.

How about having the few Silver teams who fall short in their championship game this year be the silver teams invited for the following season. That will require the Silver teams to be top-notch and just missed out on a chance of getting to Gold. Then if some of those Silver teams either decline or fold, you can invite the other teams from the Silver conference championship game losers in...seems the best way to get the "best" Silver teams out there for next season. Only problem that arises is the teams that come up from Copper that were undefeated, but they generally aren't ready for top Silver competition to begin with. I think that is your best strategy to find the best competition for this tournament IMO

Your about as mature as and probably look and act like Perez Hilton.
FWIW, should changes be made to the rules? Sure if everyone agrees, but the rules were set for this tourny before it started. It's BS to change the rules. It has always been that Top seeds face the lower seeds in any bracket.
