It would be difficult to impossible for Bort to verify 'military service'. Personally I don't care about this idea one way or the other but if it is introduced it would likely have to be for all players, and if the agent were to sign in they should not be able to access forums or messaging until the account is 'thawed'...thus no sitting out for a season where you don't like the sim, but only for people who are really unable to access the site.

Personally I don't care about this idea one way or the other but if it is introduced it would likely have to be for all players, and if the agent were to sign in they should not be able to access forums or messaging until the account is 'thawed'...thus no sitting out for a season where you don't like the sim, but only for people who are really unable to access the site.

Yes, but it would be for a minimum of 1 month, and when he says NO activity, he means NO activity. I actually like this idea. For me, this would have been great if you could appoint an co-owner (if you own a team), and be able to sit out for a month. For instance, when I have finals coming up, it would be great to freeze my account for a month to concentrate on finishing the semester strong.

Could I survive without the addiction? I don't know.

Would I do it in theory? Yes.

I agree with this but as someone who has served myself and been to Iraq twice, it's much better now. Most, if not all, FOBs (Forward Operating Bases) have computer centers where there is access to the internet. But they tend to be extremely packed and only give you a limited amount of time to use the computers. So you would be active in the sense that you'll be around but not nearly as active as you would want to be. Support the men and women who serve their country with this idea.

Seriously, by no means would it be necessary for Lord Bort to get in touch with the gov. and verify military activity.

If you want to become a free agent for whatever reason...military, personal issues, family, whatever...you should be able to do so without being negatively affected.

I leave this upcoming sunday for basic... and support has been very constructive and supportive and they have offered a temporary solution... where i will be given permission to allow a friend access to my account while im gone to make sure my players don't get wasted while im away

i know its not the same thing but at least they are understanding and doing what they can with the current rules... hopefully they can implement something like this to make it that much better

Let me start by saying Good luck sir/maam.

This idea needs to happen, not just for servicemen and women, but for anyone who plays the game. There are tons of reasons that this would be a legitimate need, job loss, new child, going into service are just three. Let our fellow players who enjoy the game overcome whatever it is that they need to and allow them to come back where they left off minus being on a team.
