I know this is a newbie question, but it's my first season as owner and I figure you guys would know, so I'll ask in here.

Do the teams that are out of the playoffs still pay the players during the playoffs? I know training continues, just wondering if the salary does too or not. I don't remember if they did or not last season.

Yeah, you pay your players for the full 40 days of the season, but no payments are made in the offseason.

OK, thanks. Now I can plan ahead.

To the Malibu Mels:
Good game out there. You really made us grind it out to earn it. We look forward to seeing you on the field again some time in the future.

Likewise. Was a fun game to watch, and we did better than I was expecting. Lotta red plays, but not enough turnovers to help us out.

Definately look forward to a rematch, but I get the feeling it might not be for a while.

Yeah, I was real impressed that we kept you guys within 20.

My hats off to you, you've been very classy and sportsmanlike even as you dominated the conference all season. It's been a pleasure, but I'm happy the chances are better than not that you guys will be moving on next year.

It's definitely not a sure thing that we will advance through this playoff system, but we're definitely going to give it our best.

It'd be a shame to leave this league, though. Lots of nice owners and players here.

Hell of a game Warriors. I'm physically ill over the way it ended, but for the disparity between records, that was a classic game. Can't tell if you let your backups do the heavy lifting, but either way it was a good one.

I actually decided to let the backups start this last game. It was a very good game. Gave us a boost to a better chance in the playoffs...

That's cool. I'm just glad I don't have to say we were held to 3 or 0 points in exactly half of our games.

You've got a good nucleus for your team. I expect you guys to be competitive next year.

Penguins "gunning" for you, Lincoln! Gonna "shuck" the Husker Nation!

(I just crack me up! Anyone else?..........uh, anyone???)

A most heartfelt appreciation from the Purple Penguins to our favorite Vikings from Alaska for vanquishing the Texas Domination this past week thus giving us a home playoff game. We literally could not have done it without you!

In celebration of our 4th place finish, I have temporarily changed my avatar to pay homage to the PURPLE PENGUIN POPULATION!!!

(ok, so there's only about 40 of us, but hey, at least it's alliterative.)

Thanks; we're gonna try. We've got a tight-knit group of people from our fantasy league (Dynasty's a league name, not a proclamation ), with more showing up for next season, so we won't have to worry about losing any players to other teams. Hopefully, that will help.

Good luck in the playoffs!

The Farkistan Squirrels would like to thank the Texas Two Step for a hard fought game today. We spent quite a bit of time game planning against you, and we were happy with the results, considering that you guys are a great team. We wish you best of luck next season.

That being said, I want to caution my players not to get too excited about the win. It was hard fought, yes, but now we must face the dreaded Vikings again. Get your game faces on, Squirrels!
