In all fairness JD the same was true on day one of this game, before there even was a 'support staff'.
We were having fun. It didn't matter that there was a risk for future value of Flex. By the second season I fielded 2 teams and another 5 or 6 dozen players for other teams. I had over 40 players in the 10th season in World league. There was never a concern about whether the company would be able to capitalize and sustain their success. In fact the guys who came over with me knew it was beta and knew the inherent risks. We spent $ because we were having fun.

The same goes today. Nobody forces anyone to by flex.

Most people were influenced by the 70% return and the expectation that the high up-front cost would buy long-term access. If you start doubting that you'll even get to use the 70%, it becomes a lot harder to justify the cost. GLB should pretty obviously be selling reward points in addition to flex points. Offering twice the number of reward points as flex points for each tier (500 reward points for $2.50, 1000 reward points for $4, etc.) would make sense for customers and the company.

the one baseball MMO just closed without notice and people lost any flex or whatever they call it - that's why getting too vested in a game can leave you holding the bag at the end

given that they aren't doing anything with GLB1 as long as Warrior Games is around they will probably keep all games active but the GLB1 user base hasn't been too impressed with the other games so far

I doubt it, since I suggested it.

I always thought it was by far the most boring part of dot building. There's nothing else to do besides look at statlines. Which is kind of ironic in that dots don't become relevant until they become boring. The first season is interesting enough to see your guy at his "peak", but after that seems pretty dull.

I play a RPG about drilling for oil. I'll use my post from there because if I used the word I wanted to I'd get banned.

To each his own and some people probably enjoy the fracking build process. But you could keep the old form of dot building and add a fracking new VPB style insta-build for those that don't. Would the lower leagues dwindle. Yes. But guess what. Those that remained in them would be there because they enjoy it, would develop rivalries over 7 seasons with like minded agents and would be happy. Those that don't like it would fracking go directly to whatever level they like. Customers would choose. And if lower leagues went away due to fracking lack of interest, then the customers would be getting the fracking experience they want. So no harm done.

As for me, I personally love the build process. There is nothing more fracking fun than watching a fracking slow dot with no fracking skills. But if I am patient and wait 3 months he can finally run fracking fast. He can't fracking turn or do a fracking football move. But he's fracking fast. If this was NASCAR then they'd all crash into the first wall because they can't turn left.

If I wait another fracking two months he can finally fracking turn. Granted, he might turn in the wrong fracking direction because he has no fracking vision, but he can turn. With another two months of patience he finally has enough vision to fracking start looking like a fracking football player. Believe it or not, there is a pretty large contingent that finds that fracking experience not stimulating.

The problem with GLB is you built an awesome sim and shoe-horned a RPG into it. You guys should have figured that out long ago when you jettisoned all the outside life/coaching etc RPG elements.

Next year when you buy Madden, play it for the first 9 months with your feet. You'll learn over that time to appreciate how many of us feel about build process and lower level league play.

There is nothing indicating that it is not. The game is great right?

Those 7 guys in minors would enjoy it just as much as those 7 guys in peewee. Except by regional they would probably be enjoying it with a lot more CPU's.

Such a double standard around this place. People one way..Rodents another...

Anyway I've got the Mean Hot Mamas paid forward a couple more years. They're demoting to rookie and I'll be building a team for them this off season.
May build a bunch of extras if guys are interested.

P.S. "Tomorrow is promised to nobody."

I'm gonna start a rookie team again next season as well...wanna build 1 dot for it?

I laughed and then I laughed. I followed that up with a few more laughs. At the end I was like huh, what did he say? and there was more laughing to be had.
