Nope. We bought our teams at roughly the same time, and I recruited an entire team from scratch. I didn't know anyone on Dryden before I recruited them. And, for the first two seasons, our team was made up of a lot of non-boosters, and for the seasons 2-3, we were actually at a level disadvantage behind teams like Dong/Nigerian/CCC.
Oh, and they were all level 1-4 (early boosters) when I recruited them.



It is alot easier to recruit when you are a MOD in a top Pro league vs a regular peon in Western Europe AA.

Your high level players on the Pushovers certainly didn't help you network either, right?


And your sending your players to other top teams to network with them is a great strategy. I'll give you that. It worked well for guys like Jrry also, who now has links to all the top teams and top players from having played on all of them. If he ever got a team again, recruiting would be easy.

Not everyone has high level players that they can scatter to the best teams though. Very few players in the game were mods.


Other than those 3-4 really HUGE things I mentioned, you really didn't have any extra advantages at all.

Asheme received and built the team in season 1, he wasn't made a mod until late season 2 or early season 3...you are reaching. BTW, I have a team SI...even with spending a ton of time planning so I wouldn't have to recruit...I lost players and still had to. And I had to recruit just like everyone else. As usual, speaking out of your ass. Has it ever occured to you that maybe just maybe I have links to so many top teams because I am a likeable guy and never put all MY players on my team even when I had an uncapped team? Maybe if you hadn't put all your high level players on the Beans, you would have had the same connections. And I know, next comes the sob story about how hard recruiting was...then I'll call bullshit which will lead to you making a snide comment about how I don't own my Pro Team anymore because I couldn't "cut" it or something about me being a cheater because I owned 2 teams...blah blah blah.




I remember when you didn't have any players in USA Pro and always hung around and kissed everyone's ass. I remember many people hated you and wondered why you even came to the forum without a player.

I also remember that when you got perma banned from the forum that most people were happy and said you got what you deserved (even though Bort let you back in).

And you are right - you have NO ROOM TO TALK shit on my team when your team could barely even have a winning season in a very weak league at the time.

Please find posts where I hung around USA Pro and kissed everyone's ass...because it's 100% untrue and that is libel. I got forum banned, some were happy, some weren't...regardless I was unbanned because it was found that my ban was without proper justification. I have room to talk shit wherever I want to, unlike you I actually back up what I say...hell for all the shit you talk...you have never amounted to anything...at least I have earned Pro Trophies...have you?

1.) You are on like 10 of the top 30 teams, so a trophy or 2 would be expected.
2.) None of them are YOUR team, which is much harder to do.
3.) If Havoc gave me a GM title en route to another 20-0 season, does that make me a genius?

If you want to prove that you are good, go get another team and see how long it takes you to get a trophy of your own. THEN and only then do you have any room to talk.

Seriously? My team is on par to win a League championship this season unless we choke. And BTW SI, the difference between you having Havoc give you a GM title and me OCing MM and helping them win the West including upsetting MEM is huge. I actually helped them earn it, while you were just there for the ride. It's not too hard to figure out.

BTW I am jealous of you for one thing, I wish I had a band imo song made after me.

You didn't put that team together. They have had the highest leveled players in the game as far as I can remember.

This game has been mostly about levels since the beginning. That is changing more and more each season, but you couldn't OC the Mayans or an underleveled team to win anything.

Since I think you outleveled MEM, I'm not even so sure how much of an upset that was. It was only an upset because of how disappointing that the Marauders had played in the past despite their levels.

A.) nice job with the win
B.) it doesn't prove that you are a better OC than anyone else
C.) has nothing to do with the topic of this thread - how to build a winning franchise and the teams I see as being top franchises in the future


If you want to suggest the Marauders, I think that is a very legit thing to consider. But instead of saying "hey, what about the Marauders?"......you say "SI sucks". Whatever.

Actually it was more, SI is lying about Dryden and me as usual. And also I disagree with SI putting his team in 5th. You were the one who started the personal crap and BTW I helped Galk get a few of those guys but most were his doing.

You take everything as an insult. I was merely asking the method to how the Marauders got to be a top 25 team. I didn't say it was a negative thing.

Part of the idea of this thread was kind of to discuss the different routes that these teams took to get to the top. Maybe so that new teams could decide what they could also do.

Since it is impossible to be a "first player to sign up" now, that route is impossible. See what I'm saying? Not an insult. Just a statement.

If you were righting the path that the Marauders took to get to the top, what would you put? And don't say tactics and builds. Everyone tries to maximize those.

If you were giving advice to the guy who is going to take over the recently CPU'd Kensington Kings in CPL, what route should he/she take to get on top?


That is what I would rather talk about than a pissing contest over what advantages that some teams had over others. Talk about the future and what teams *could* or *should* be doing.
