What do you mean by 'can't log onto firefox'? If when you try to log in to GLB it immediately logs you out then clear your cookies.

After I open the greasemonkey download,and I try to open the file it sends me to find something to run the program on.

You don't 'download' Greasemonkey (or any Greasemonkey scripts), you install it while in the browser.

Here's a link to a friends list script that uses cookies to store your friends. The major advantage of this is that it allows you to click on a link on an agents page to add them to your friends, rather than to set them up in the script's code itself. I've also added a "Send PM" link and estimated online/inactive/offline status based on the time of your friend's last action.
