Great point.

Anyone who think the Patriots weren't a great team just because they lost a close game to a very good Giants team is insane.

Beans = Patriots
Marblehead = Giants

To say the Patriots are a shit team (like everyone says about SI and the Beans) is flat out retarded.

And you can say that Marblehead didn't win CPL, but there is a very good chance they would have if they would have used their 95% run game like they did in normal games. We'll never know now though.

If you wanted to make an accurate analogy, the Beans would equal this season's Titans.

Better analogy: 1996 regular season Denver Broncos (won division, upset in the 1st round by the Jaguars)

Nah the Titans went 15-1 and lost in the 2nd round, just like the Beans...

Titans aren't a bad fit. Titans have been pretty up and down though. The Beans have been (13-3) for 3 seasons in a row before the (15-1) season.

I would say any 5 year stretch in the Cowher era of Steelers football from 1990-2004 would be most accurate. Very good regular seasons, then playoff disappointment in the 2nd round usually.

You could also point to any Colts 5 year stretch with Manning before they finally broke though - very good regular seasons followed up by playoff disappointment - most often in the 2nd round.

NFL =/= GLB because no 1st round bye

If you want to look at those comparisons a little further, the Steelers and Colts in those eras were pretty 1 sided in their offense (Steelers under Kordell and Titans under Collins could run, but not pass as well. The Colts under Manning could pass, but not run when needed). The Beans have always been the best rushing team in CPL, but had a hard time passing in big games.

Upon inspection of the defenses, the Beans always do well in run defense, but sometimes struggle against the pass. That would be similar to the Steelers of the Cowher era and also the recent Titans (15-1) squad.

Whatever you want to say, I wouldn't describe any of these teams as poorly coached (including the Beans).

And while there are a few teams who could laugh at these Steelers, Colts, and Titans teams (Belichick and the Patriots are one, maybe Jimmy Johnson and his Cowboys teams are another)..........retarded retired middle school football coaches like avgbrad really have nothing to say that means anything in the conversation about the performance of Cowher (pre-Super Bowl), Dungy (pre-Super Bowl), Fisher, and SI.

brad won a AAA league, which would be analogous to being the best team in a NCAA conference, not middle school.

your post was almost not retarded, but then you added (edited?) that in.

He wanted to play day 20 when our chemistry was lowest

I wanted to play day 30 or later) when our chemistry would be highest

We couldn't compromise on a day in between.

I haven't heard from him lately.

He must be using a different multi-account this week I guess. *shrugs*

The tigers also beat some a couple pretty good teams the last few games. He's probably scared now anyway.
