Another issue is that some of our builds are a bit too advanced for GLB....

It's nice seeing an OT pancake a DE, head upfield 9 yards (because he's fast as hell), and instead of blocking the one player left in between the HB and the goalline, he'll turn around and block the DE that's gotten up again, behind the HB...

working as intended

Can't do anything but shake your head when you see shit like this after 9 seasons. MVP,colored dots, and VAs are pretty important though

you know what it seems like, sometimes the dots forget what they are actually supposed to do, but instead they revert back to trying to block their primary assignment. Notice Roberts ultimately attacks the well covered/out of the play LDE.

I saw another play tonight with Hughes (RG) where he pancaked the LOLB...then he started heading back to the NT, pancaked the SS along the way, then - at this point well away from the run - proceeded to get right up in the NT's grill for the rest of the play you could see before it scrolled off. I have to try finding that. Will add it here if I do.

edit: here it is. Another screen pass.

After he kills the LOLB, its like the sim says hey 2 blockers for 2 defenders left, let's send the RG back to the LOS! But he attakcs the SS first who is right next to the NT....I mean did he think the SS was going to catch the RB? lol.

Brilliant.

Threat assessment on blocking is horrible, always has been.

A long time ago Bort fixed the pathing on defenders, but the offense never got looked at. I am no programmer but isn't this play an easy fix?

If no threat is within X radius, the RT heads upfield along the path of the play as a lead blocker.

I personally enjoyed watching my FB run right past the RDE today to go down field on the sweeps

oh yeah, well it used to be that the L/RDE was double covered, and the FB would plow into him anyway. No happy medium around here

For the record though, for some reason, our builds just aren't translating this season... Tons of turnovers which have never been a problem in seasons past, and we have a few glaring holes on D...

Seems like a lot of turnovers in general. Not sure that anything is wrong with your builds. Goofy VAs plus changes to the energy code =/= win.
