Here's an idea. Work while at work.

Sooooo... using sexually-graphic avatars and posting links to questionable material on a game site frequented by children is okay. But pulling up a game website at work... that is where you draw your line morally?

Um, okay...

There's kids on here. It's a game site.

That said, I really couldn't care less about girlie avatars. It just amuses me that the people who want full absolute freedom for their avatars and what-not are often the same people who are morally outraged that other people would dare to pull up a game website on their work computer.

1) If a "child" is frequenting the internet with no adult supervision, they have likely seen far worse things already than GoCinncy's old avatar and the parent letting their kid run around the net on their own should expect their kid to see stuff. If you wouldn't let your kid wander a city by themselves, why the internet?

If they are on here with adult supervision, their parent can choose to turn off avatars. The power of choice.

2) moe is not serious.

Absolutely true. And as I already said above, I really couldn't care less about girlie avatars.

What I'm amused at is the dichotomy of the same person saying, "Who are you to tell me what to do on the internet, man! If I want to have a photoshopped avatar of Kate Upton doing suggestive things to a banana, I should be allowed to!", then that same person turning around and telling someone else, "Dude! You shouldn't be on a game website AT WORK!!! That's WRONG!!!"

It just amuses me how quickly a person can change from telling other people not to judge their life, then turning around and judging other people's lives.

Have whatever avatar you want. Just don't get outraged at me for daring to pull up GLB at work.

Maybe Moe's not serious, but I've seen plenty of other people make that point in all seriousness when this debate has come up before. And it's usually from the crowd who wants complete and total freedom on their avatars, responding to people who say "But I go on GLB at work! Your avatar could get me fired!"

Though one thing GLB needs to guard against and/or keep in mind, is letting questionable content on the boards due to site content ratings. It's quite possible they could get rated, Adult/Mature by Content Adviser Companies that Network Admins like me use. Images and language both factor into this.

I would buy this, if content raters went that far into things. Even if someone like Websense popped them up on "pornography" due to some swear words, they could get this overturned without much effort.

FFA completely decimates this conclusion.
