effective level is still not correct. I have 4 linemen that are only level 33 and their effective levels are 30 and they are doing a great job. They are all top 5 in preseason pancakes. Effective level does not matter if you are making specific builds. It is a mean of all players. I want run blocking linemen that suck at passing blocking, their under the mean. But I think they are much better than others. Therefore I still think it is a lolbar

good, would be abused to hell, and op'ed. If people think parity is bad now, you would have an even more select group of people dominating if this went through. 1 man teams would = godlike.

That honestly, is the one major concern as an owner I also have.

being an owner of an AAA squad, this change makes me want to scrap the entire team and start over to take advantage, no point in competing at a high level to get unseated by players who will be born with much higher growth levels.

Higher end teams specialize players into these categories without the added bonuses. Why would people not want to scrap it all and start over?

not quite what I was asking.... what would happen to the SAs that we invested in that no longer "exist" for our position? would they be returned via SP or would they simply become whatever substitutes them in the tree?

Also would the ALGs be reverse engineered or only applied going forward?

SA's are still going to exist for every position - none of those are changing. You just need to be careful if you are going to select an archetype that you don't pick one where you have 10 invested in a SA that is getting a penalty.

Only applied going forward, no reverse engineering.

The recent addition of the "Effective Level" was very helpful with recruiting and paired with a way to quickly tell what kind of player build an agent foresees long-term would eliminate countless hours of guessing and PMs trying to coordinate a specified roster.

This (not that I know anything about recruiting O_o). I assume this will work for agents, too, if a given archetype is in high demand.

At the end of the day, I like it. +1.

+1 I'll just add this overhaul to the list of things that make me want to log off permanently...

I like the basic idea, but this makes all players over the 120 day mark worthless.

Worthless compared to what?

Archetypes won't make up 3-4 seasons...not to mention that the 120 day old players can still get archetypes and benefit a bit from it.

This is a really simple question, and I think I know the answer but can you clarify THE ALG for older players?

If I Have a 300 day old player, and I want no bonus or penalty for say a OT, Will he be +0% pass/run block based on sa's, if he chooses to not be jerked with in any way?

I agree, the offensive linemen need a balanced option. Lord knows that's what usually happens with my experiences in college.

WR Power
6'0" - 6'6", 205-235 Lbs
Major Agility Carrying Catching Strength (+.5)
Minor Confidence Speed Stamina Vision (+.25)
Bonus SA's - None
Penalty SA's - None

Imo Spin or a breaking tackle SA should be a Power WR's bonus.
Bonus SA: Spin

I love the idea of special team SA's. You can actually build a special teams that can impact the game in a great way. Special team players could become an asset if used correctly. This is a great idea. It does kind of box some positions, but you have the main ones with plenty of options. It still allows for you to build how you like. You can make a fast speedy power back. It would essentially be a elusive back with great power back SA's. I can see the diversity you are talking about. It does suck a bit because I have made a ton of players that I will have to fix, however this could make the game pretty cool.

One serious question. Will this make Defensive game planning a one stop shop? Will you be able to just tag elusive backs, power backs, combo and have an automatic defense that goes in against those players? If so I can see people building complex defenses and just transfering them to teams without any game planning.

Yikes, this is not good news. It's amazing to me that this type of overhaul is given priority or everything else when such glaring flaws already exist.

Start at the beginning imo

Right now the only good thing I can see is this: Instead of owners looking at builds and signing you, then telling you how they want you to build, they can sign you by your by the archetyoe they want, then tell you how to build.

A 100 flex player can still play special teams and a player with a STOP archetype can still play at their regular position.

i disagree - the new choices will actually help a newbie make a better player...

if he chooses HB - he gets to pick - power/speed/scat/etc

if he chooses TE - he gets to pick - blocking / receiving / etc / etc

the newb's life has gotten much simpler

It's an archetype, meaning it doesn't necessarily reflect just 15 plays/game.
