waste of time to argue stats. ot/de interaction is the issue. i think it's fine vs the run. vs the pass could still use some love. looking forward to the changes currently being tested.

And seriously, youīre aiming for numbers? Why does Julius Dee get 1 sack vs gut job CCCC? Thatīs why we shouldnīt be aiming for numbers, we should be looking for a fair OT/DE interaction. Sad thing is, we had one in season 6 when good OTs could stop equal DEs, but it was taken away and the Boss doesnīt want to put it back in.

You know I've done a lot to help the DE/OT interaction and there is still some stuff being done to improve it, but for people to say that sack numbers are unrealistic right now is completely off base.
I think people are saying they're unrealistic to the number of plays being called in a sim.
Sims usually have 2x more plays called in a game than an NFL season, so wouldn't you realistically expect 2x the sacks?
Really?
In the NFL last season, there was an average of 61.88 offensive plays per team.
In my first six regular season games, there has been an average of 69.4 offensive plays per team.

The pace of which the pro-league games go mean that no possesion lasts longer than 8-10 plays.
A lot of secondaries GLBwide are only so much better than Big 12 defenses.

It's getting better, but even in the above list I only looked at a few of those players and generally between 30-50% of those sacks came when they won by pretty massive margins in the 50+ range.
Compounded with the fact that GLB games are notably longer than NFL games, and clearly we are not quite "there" yet.

Bolded is where you messed up. Those numbers are not good, even in the NFL theyīre semi-decent. But in dotball theyīre atrocious compared to all other statistical categories.

NO other position is subject to realism.
So how can you say that these DE numbers are realistic? Realistic to what?
This game isn't the NFL, nothing compares statistic wise. I don't get how you keep using that as your argument, it makes no sense.
You can't say that a certain position should only have XX amount of stats per year. That's how this game got fucked up in the first place. You need to let the builds decide who gets what in the box score - end of story.
and I'm still very pro-DE. I have some of the best in the game on my team, but I'm tired of the my DE isn't getting stats argument. That's NOT the problem. The numbers right now are fine - as good as they've been in terms of realism probably ever.
NO other position is subject to realism.

Here's the thing though... That can't happen. The utter lack of parity throughout 95% of the leagues in the game means that if we had a realistic DE/OT interaction then we'd quickly return to the days of 80-sack seasons (or more likely 120 sack seasons since levels are more spread out than ever)... and it would mean that games vs somewhat (but not extremely) uneven teams would be decided almost entirely by the DEs giving the somewhat weaker team about .8 seconds to throw the ball.
If parity is addressed then we can have a realistic DE/OT interaction. I want a realistic mechanic as badly as everyone else... But if the interaction was made "realistic" right now, the VAST majority of games played would be absurd.
