I agree 100%, while I'm not in the same boat (yet) I know many a friend that's served overseas where they wouldn't have access to internet on any regular basis.

Reality is that you end up sacrificing a lot to represent your country on the front lines. Unfortunately that does include hobbies and a personal life.
The service is just a good example...but I see no reason why it couldn't apply to anyone. You could even have the option to pay say 10 flex points a month for the frozen time.

I would imagine that if the account is frozen they wouldn't get the 100 FP every season, that would be fine, since they shouldn't be able to log in later and have collected an extra 500 FP. That's the only real exploit that I can see.
