But if you look closely at the secondary, they actually do home in on him right when he tucks it. And also, the WRs start blocking at that point too when, as I said before, the QB should still be able to throw.

Yep, I hate everything about the tuck-and-run coding... when the QB decides to do it, the fact that he can't bring the ball back up to pass, the way defenders react, UGH

This cracks me up... I'm watching my C's top replays today and it's a pass play and I'm like, "Sweet, he actually got a pancake in pass blocking!" But no, the pancake happens about 1 tick after the QB tucks the ball to run it.

The first X (or sometimes even farther back) is where a QB would decide to tuck right now in GLB. Right when he does this, it turns into a running play (receivers block and coverage players run to the QB even if he's still 5+ yards behind the LOS.
The second X is obviously where it should turn into a rushing play. Before the QB reaches the LOS or maybe like a 1/2 yard behind it, receivers should be extending their routes and the QB should be able to throw.

make improvised routes, extra agility and vision mean something for a WR on those types of plays too...

I remember seeing some scrambling "experiments" that Bort had fooled around with, mainly focused on QB mobility, some of which looked real good. The issue that it was too good, lol.

There's hope for scrambling QBs, but there definitely needs to be a lot of work done with how the QB should progress (especially with keeping his eyes downfield and ready to throw).

Whatever happened to the dual slider solution that I came up with?

So then situations like this one could be avoided. If the ball had changed hands here, I would have quit fo sho:
