As proprietor and leader of Badlands, I know that boasting will generate much resentment among our peers, but I won't discourage my Men from displaying their pride. As you say, this game needs rivalries and flavor.

Champions aren't required to be humble...

Excellent post, Thrashmaster. I agree.

A man may have his preferences towards humility or pride, but ultimately basic respect for yourself and your opponent is the mark of a true gentleman and sportsman.

Well you certainly have me confused then, because you just said two different things.

You feel you have "earned" something? No offense to the teams in question but you've had one game so far that is even a blip on the radar. You haven't earned much of anything.

Everything about the team reeks of dropping down into the "BBB" with the intent of "pwning" some new teams. In fact many of your players show a lack of respect and all the competitive spirit of a schoolyard bully.

The very best part, and I mean best, the part where I almost spit Coca-Cola over my monitor, is where TenTwo comes back and wants to compare salary, IQ, number of sexual conquests, or whatever juvenile pursuits he thinks earns him the right to manhood. You sound small and pathetic, and from now on that's how I will handle your posts.

If you can't reel your people in, I'm happy to sling mud until this thread is locked out. So hit me with your best shot. Be a big man and tell me over the internet how I'm a crybaby, loser, that lives in my mother's basement and can't take whatever verbal abuse you feel obligated to puke in my direction simply because you have an internet connection.

I can't wait.

Gotta love the tension. Anyone else beginning to be really glad you landed in this league? It's going to be brutal when playoff time rolls around..

If people want to brag.. let them brag.. if your up for the challenge.. beat them on the field when you get your chance. Otherwise, take it with a grain of salt and let it add to the dynamic of the game.

P.S.- More previews, reviews, rankings, matchup analysis, and fun stuff.. less whining and bickering over the internet.

Internet games & real life morals or 'ideals' of how 'competitive people' should act do not.. and will never mix. Welcome to the anonomity of the internet. Learn it, love it, live it.

Not to nitpick, but it is not "grammatically incorrect" to do what he did. It could be considered logically incorrect, but most technically it is a metonymic statement, which is--in fact--an entirely acceptable aspect of colloquial diction.

However, it IS grammatically incorrect to use the term "grammatically" the way you did there, because it isn't used according to any of its definitive meanings.

Now, back to the incessant Neaderthalisms:

I have one thing to say and this is directed at no one in particular. My posts which largely consist of "my team is great, everyone else is second class" in as many discriptive and sometimes offensive ways as I can. I do this to create rivalries, give the other teams something to shoot for, and pump up my guys' egos.

One thing I don't do, however, is single anyone out. I don't attack anyone's character and I don't do any labeling or name calling. I haven't done that in about 15 years. I think at this point in my life I am above that. When someone lashes back and bashes my intellegence, class or whatever, I don't take it too seriously. I'll match my IQ, salary, education background, whatever you want, with anyone in here. If you got me beat good on you. Also, for you English majors, I know when I am using incorrect grammer. I do it intentionally, so don't bother insulting my intelligence.

I enjoy getting people like grooveskipinc riled up, and for the most part I like his retorts. He at least has a sense of humor and an ounce of creativity. For those who want to cry about everything, well, that's your problem I guess. The trash talking forum is garbage because it isn't BBB#10 exclusive. If it was, I'd put my posts there. The truth is, my posts have created a lot of interest for this forum (I'm willing to bet), and as long as you are man enough to take this "idiot's" rants with a grain of salt you should be able to retaliate with a little more creativity and a little less hostility.

...and by the way, my team is better than yours, in case you forgot.

I'm not riled up. I didn't get riled up when I was playing real football, winning or losing here won't bother me.

Well as one educated Man to another, I accept your correction, and concede that your knowledge of grammar may exceed my own.

Now, since we've moved on from all of the 'you're an idiot' bickering, let's nurture Seizure's proposal and make this thread fun once again. With a little banter thrown in for good measure.

I'll start by saying we have an awesome game tomorrow in Biloxi vs Sante Fe. I don't know how much home field advantage will factor, but this will be a very evenly matched game.

Biloxi is one of the most impressive teams on paper, but I know Sante Fe can scrap. Just look at what they did to a tough Gilead team last game.

I'll be working on my pickem post for tomorrow's games.

This is my GM, and why I do not argue with him too much!!!

Sante Fe V Biloxi is a good matchup and will set an early staement on how the playoffs will line up.
