I still don't think it's too late to save this game. But make no mistake, it needs saving. And it will only be saved if Bort and Co. agree with that and decide to take action now. The longer they wait, the more inevitable GLB's death becomes.

but why would they care about this game? didn't you hear? WE HAVE GLB2 NOW!!!!!

yes bort and co, that was sarcasm...

Update for the end of Day 0... let's compare the pace of the Rookie Class of Season 41 to the pace of the Rookie Class of Season 40.

Right now, it's the end of Day 0, just about to roll over to Day 1. At this point last year, the Rookie Class of Season 40 was right around 8,693 dots. { Source: http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=5154951&page=5#48223982 }

Compare that to the current size of the Rookie Class of Season 41: 7,798.

Basically, this season's Rookie Class is 895 dots behind the pace of last season's Rookie Class right now.

Of course, the Day 39 final numbers are what matters the most. But the Season 40 Rookie Class was smaller than the Season 39 Rookie Class, so the trend is definitely not going in the right direction for Season 41's Rookie Class -- or for the future of GLB1.

-----

But don't worry!

What you fail to understand, is that there will be additions to GLB Classic that will be so awesome, it will quadruple the user base in the first season implemented.

If you were in the high rollers forum you'd know that.

Not sure why that is a surprise. And it's not that huge a drop-off between seasons. Plus everyone always wanted the leagues condensed, so now they are and folks continue to moan.

Personally, I don't care. It'll last as long as it lasts and die when it's time comes. Jump off ship early or stay and ride the ferry. It's not overloaded.

It's no surprise to me either. It's only a surprise to the people who aren't paying attention... and I think this thread has shown that's more people than you might think.

As for condensing the leagues, people wanted the leagues condensed because of the shrinking pool of decent human dots. It's kinda like amputating a gangrenous limb... it's the right thing to do to save the patient, but it's best not to be in that situation in the first place.

But I ain't leaving yet. I still have too much Flex to burn off, and I'm determined to get the maximum value out of it that I can while I still can.
