The ability for an agent to create an entire team should be very appealing to the vast majority of the users here. It would be a huge boom in the amount of teams in GLB, obviously.

That goes for public, private & team forums, they are almost all dead. From my experience dead forums lead to dead games. I still really enjoy GLB the game, I think the sim at the top levels is awesome, but if the forums are dead, new users aren't going to be engaged enough to stick around.

A lot of private forums are posted in daily.

Generally about 2-3 pages of the directory.

New users wouldnt likely have any awareness of those forums. Not to even mention the reasons people feel the need to converse more regularly in private forums rather than league forums.

So if DD's presumption has some merit, thats another drag on the new user bothering to engage in a complex game.

Pretty sure you aren't the forum nazi type but its yet another factor to consider how much of your business is just going away because it doesn't seem to be much of anything going on to the new user (so why bother with the learning curve if the payoff seems to be...melancholy).

Since everything worth discussing is about me, this is a good place to note that I was driven out of FAQ with bans by the moderators at the direction of McBriar. And while I've deserved a lot of bans in other areas of the forums, I was always on better behavior in FAQ and was one of the most helpful vets in there. For those who might be skeptical, feel free to search my posts in FAQ and find anything you think was truly unacceptable.

come on. GLB main would cycle the whole front page in a few hours a few years ago, now it might take a week.

you have provided a relative logical comparison, which is exactly what I thought when I read his comments as well.

Unfortunately that is not a positive point, and being that there aren't any things to indicate that they are doing anything to improve the situation they will not admit it.

He actually makes an honest point here. He and Bhall are both extremely helpful when it comes to GLB questions, and FAQ was better when he was there before the punter drove him off.

There's a lot of reasons for the inactivity in the main forums, and why private forums keep having posts.

One big factor is that there isn't really much to talk about. All of the big mysteries have been solved. Most of the things that caused more people than normal to complain have been fixed. No major changes are happening to have forum riots over.

Private forums still have decent amounts of activity because teams are still discussing their plans and strategies.

The whole forum "nazi" thing is a bit overplayed. It has more weight in league forums, where we were admittedly a bit overzealous at times, but main has always been way more lenient than most other forums online. Sure, there's examples of people continually pushing the limits then acting like the straw that broke the camels back was an "unfair" suspension, but I'm not sure that falls under Godwin's Law.

Since I don't feel like going through your whole suspension history

A pissing match in FAQ has pretty much always resulted in a suspension hasn't it?

Oh, and it looks like another one for quote pyramid spamming after being warned to stop.

Those crazy mods.

Private forums and PM's are better for helping noobs anyways. FAQ is filled with buzzards and trolls.
