I will stay here for as long as theres a GLB - course its not perfect and yes people get burnt out..........But youre all still here arent you

Ive been in the game 18 months or so - LOVE IT and on here too much ............And have too much TIME invested here to want to leave it Bollocks to the Flex - if thats an issue with people go and play tiddlywinks or marbles

If you want to go to the new game cos its oh so exciting/better/fashionable..........excuse my french but F**K off there ......................................I think the thinking players and builders will stay here The game will compress its user base and be far more competitive............Newbies and people wanting a fresh loltrophy start can get out of the Dallas shower and pretend GLB 1 never happened

And I cant believe how negative some guys are Blah blah flex blah blah RQBs moan moan moan

ITS A GAME - A GREAT GAME - BUT IF ITS NOT FOR YOU THEN SEE YA BUT WOULDNT WANNA BE YA - I didnt spend the last year of my life here to stop playing now

Sounds like it's better than GLB.

WoW releases expansion packs every few years, which cannibalize their old content.

Hmmm... How do you figure they cannibalize on their game? Content is irrelevant, only the consumer base matters, and in that case, it stays the same, no?

Still, from the release of GLB (aka, when it is no longer beta) to the relase of GLB 2, do you think we will have 5 years? In that case, it would need to be in alpha + beta for 4 years. Do you think that is realistic?

it's not like you can make expansion packs for football, unless they are playing on the moon with pandas or something, and I'm guessing that would turn off even more people.

I would be all in if this was the case. No lie. I freaking love pandas!

Somebody should have told them that was stupid since GTA4's sales are dwindling next to nothing.

Made this exact point with respect to Call of Duty on the previous page.

Well, considering they intend to do an alpha period (one or more seasons?) that will only include 50 or so users it makes sense to keep things running at least through that phase. From there, the game will likely enter a beta phase (probably at least long enough for a player to play from beginning to end) that some people won't be interested in playing. I suspect there will be more than a handful that are currently working their way through the current ladder and will want to complete their run.

All that being said, it makes perfect sense to allow both games run concurrently for some time. Its also possible that the new game is much more "casual" than the current game (or vice versa) and the two run concurrently forever.

I'm sure they'll provide answers at the pace they feel is best for their business.

Wasn't GLB Beta for 30+ seasons?

GLB is 90% social network and 10% a game. There is no Facebook 2.0.
They are taking a big risk, by splitting the user base. if the new game will be good enough or a new wave of users come in then no problem. But watered down tactics and lack of interest in the competition (a year long build process) can leave both pools dry.

Will GLB 1 still be here or will it slowly fade to black?

If they can get a cross platform game going, especially on fb, iTunes and android and have it all connected then they really are on to something. How many people play farmville and candy crush.... Highest grossing "free" games of their times.

It's not a bad idea, just two years too late. This will only accelerate the end.
