I mostly fly to wherever I'm going because it is usually a long trip and vacation time is sparse. Drove last time I went back home to NC/SC (yes both, born in one, school the other and then moved back to my birth state) and it's a good way to eat a day and a half total for just travel. I drive for a living, that just isn't cool.

What I don't understand is that as I drive through these "conservative religious Southern states" that I hit more billboards for porn places than I ever find in Virginia and above.

It's not as "conservative" and "religious" as you've been led to believe would be the reason for that. Sure, we have our zealots. All places do. I currently live in Indiana and I swear I'm surrounded by pod-people.

Then again, I probably know a different side of both SC and NC than most people. I was the frontman and guitarist for a metal band that played along the eastern seaboard for a period of time. Experiences may vary.
