As are a number of Canadian beers. Pretty much anything Molson ever produced. Just like in America, there are a lot of great Canadian beers, but not all Canadian (or American) beers are shit just because some of the mass consumed ones are.

American beers have been dominating international brewing competitions for a while now, who judges a country's beer by its macrobrews?

Best beer I've had was in Belgium. Best doner kababs too. Germany's was a close second. There are a few local American varieties I've had that were good. Yingling in PA, Purple Haze Abita in La, vanilla porter at Breckenridge brewery in Breckenridge Co...I was impressed by all those I had, all on tap.

If Yinging and Abita are 2/3s of your experience with American craft beer, you have no clue.

Those were the ones I liked. I didn't list the ones that were meh. That said, I've always preferred liquor over beer, so you're probably right.

Belgian beer has huge variety. There are a ton of Belgian-style beers in the US now, so you can have it here fresh and on tap.

Yeah- gold tequila was actually a mistake with impurities in it that companies successfully marketed.
