GLB doesn't try. Disguising balance issues with lack of disclosure is something that is unique to GLB.

Not even remotely unique to GLB.

Another good yello1 quote about being able to buy your way into WL

To me the challenge should be on the field. Not earning the "right" to play the game you bought.

So many good quotes from this thread

If you buy a set of poker card and you get saw dust ink and instructions on how to make paper, it does not make you more of a man to make cards out of them. It makes you a fool if you do not return it and get your money back.

Go back to having teams dominate Pro and then hold tournament for the top 16 teams to determine the overall champion

I beg to differ, or well, I bet there are plenty of smaller games that do not disclose information, but the vast majority does, specially most of all bigger ones. The few that don't run into a poor endgame and lots of complaints.

Can you give me a couple of successful mmos that do NOT disclose the impact of each stat/attribute?

GLB isn't a successful MMO. It is more akin to small indie games, and if you want I can name several that don't give out every piece of information about every mechanic in the game.

Eh, in my experience it's extraordinarily rare for competitive games to reveal all their calculations. Even stuff like Call of Duty has players piece together information about how much damage declines over distance, etc.

There's also RTS games, that almost never give any clear details in my experience.

I mean, why does Call of Duty have big block bars for accuracy and weapon damage instead of giving us the the numbers? I DEMAND DECIMALS!!!

Not only are those disguising balance issues, but they are usually just flat out misleading. Like, sniper rifles usually all do the same exact damage, but the "damage" bar always varies slightly.

I don't know how somebody can play that game without knowing the exact numbers. It's really holding the game back tbh

Ya'll are taking the sarcasm to the extreme. Nobody expects every tiny detail to be exposed. I think it would be better if there were more clarity in some places. We shouldn't have to ask the creator if something works in some positions and not others http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=5065409&page=2#47155358

Where are all the new agents that advertising was supposed to bring in?

Can I buy a team and fill it with real players now?

Or will half of them still be CPU?

Just shut the website down and be done with it.

You know that is where all of this is heading.

Were you living under a box for that first year and a half? I see you signed up in 2008.

As for the 95% thing, thats where multiple choices and game planning options come into play. If you make 5 equally valid ways to play every postion, and game play options that exploit each well, then you would only the be same as 20% of the population. And that would be lower as you could do combination dots that would fit into more game plans.

So what is the point of building a player?
