We all know that it will never happen, so even if GLB tried taking a stand against networks (past or present) their hands were tied because you can't stop a group of guys from helping each other out.

Those that claim to not be a part of an official network are still a part of a group of some sort..... it's called "networking"

I'm not part of a network of any kind.

Well, I'm part of the group of people that play this game.
That's it though

so here's what i'm reading

jdbolick: hays you have a lot of really good dots on your two WL teams. i see you've recruited some upgrades for next season. i think you should let your really good WL quality dots go play for some other WL teams. give those other teams good dots so they can compete and have a better chance to beat you. its not as fun when you win. let the rest of us win more too.

hrm...ok?

That's really a narrow view of jd's posts. He's been spot on.

Yep...thats really the only alternative as NGTH as it is.

I would actually take it 1 step further & suggest that not having a draft (lets say, when entering Pro) is the second biggest issue with getting game mechanics to properly balance behind the EQ bonuses to skills (i.e. the fact that you can 160+ speed for instance). The game mechanics are difficult to not have more random as great dotbuilders tend to keep their dots together (ldo). So you have very linear rosters of elite dots vs very linear rosters of mediocre dots. And to keep players from getting sick of getting killed on every play, you have to randomize it a bit more than the actual difference in skills would suggest you should.

For example...take an elite DE like Reggie White back in the day going against some average OT he would have faced. He was a beast to contain & you really had to gameplan away from him. Now put 55 Reggie White caliber dots vs 55 average dots and see what the results look like. They wont be pretty as every single play would be LE getting by RT, NT getting thru C/RG doubleteam, DT getting thru LG, RE getting by LT. It would suck to be average in that game.

Thats why you need 1 Reggie White and 1 average DE on the other side (or even pretty good). You have an elite LT here, but then a mediocre G there. Its all about the matchups without the need to add over the top randomness or nerfs. Thats what a draft would net you.

Though I soon as I say that...I can honestly think of lots of ways that shitty owners could screw people's dots over so yeah, I guess NGTH.

But we thought it was so clever, for like half an hour.

networks are in every MMO, most of the time they're called 'guilds' or something to that effect
