Then place me in the chart-lookup camp. It's more fun to cross reference a monster's hit dice and the PC's AC (all while hiding behind a screen covered with arcane charts and tables, plus coffee and Taco Bell stains), then roll, as opposed to "what's your THAC0 minus AC?"

I'd prefer a middle ground.
