Problem #1) Texas partnered with ESPN, where ESPN is responsible 100% for the success of the network, is a mega problem for college football. 20 mil a year is a mega amount of money they have to pay and believe me, they will want to recoup that somehow. If the Fiesta Bowl (which is a bigger story of corruption then Miami Hurricanes are, but isn't being talked about....interesting isn't it ESPN?) has to decide between Alabama or Texas at the end of the day, and all things being equal, do you think ESPN wants Alabama (CBS rights) in that game? What if this has NC ramifications? HUGE HUGE conflict of interests when ESPN is desperately trying to get viewers on TLN.
What KU, OSU, or NU did is nothing like Texas has done.....not even close.
Problem #2) Omaha World Herald was excommunicated by NU, so their stories are slightly biased in a negative light for NU. I won't bore you guys with that story.
Problem #3) 20mil a year guaranteed is still far greater than 4.3 mil a year.
Problem #4) Texas still reals in more conference money then anybody else does, but this article wants to stomp its foot when other schools gets creative with its third tier rights. Give me a break. If Texas wants to be equitable like the B1G, SEC, or P12 does, then you can complain about third tier rights.
Problem #5) "So the question that must be answered…where was the fury, the angst, the extremely harsh feelings and words for Kansas, Oklahoma State, and Nebraska when they made these extremely lucrative deals that were exclusive to their department…not shared with the conference?" Laughable. As I said in my previous post, Nebraska (and others) were willing to give up their rights. Texas balked and with good reason if they already knew they were about to make a windfall of 20 mil a year for 15 years. if Texas agreed, then all this doesn't matter.
Problem #6 This article doesn't point out once that OSU, Florida, or USC could do to their conferences that Texas does to to the B12. They care about the stability of their conference, its longevity, and its membered schools. Texas doesn't give a shit period. It's amazing that they are at the epicenter of two conferences collapsing.
You sound like a commie.
