I've had 2 players who committed AND on a second time confirmed to sign with the team for season 24. They both "accidentally" hit the accept instead of the reject button for their current team. Of course their owners "won't" release them. Uh huh.

True or not doesn't matter I planned on having them and now at the last minute was stuck. It is needed and should have been put in a while ago imo. Maybe if there was a cost to doing that they would have paid more attention to what button they were hitting OR never committed in the first place.

Exactly...people have a right to change their minds right up until they actually sign. I've had happen many times, it is what is and that is part of the game.

The thread Letters of Intent has been merged into this thread

Someone suggested that we be able to send a pre-offer to players during the season that they could accept or other wise have on hand as an easier mechanic to solicit and commit to deals for the next season but which would be a step below an actual contract.

+1 to that idea.

Heh I did actually, but not in that exact format. But the discussion turned to the Letter of Intent format and that idea was suggested separately by someone else - Matt it seems. And that garnered more interest and is more likely to be GTH than my initial idea.
