Score updated, and Gold clinches the main trophy. Congrats on the win!

Just gotta wait for the rest and see about the MVT awards.

I like the team theme concept. If your back next season with this tourney, Id love to represent Gold.

I will be returning it for Season 14, but there may be some changes that I'm considering for it. Either expanding the number of participating teams or maybe putting a selection committee together for the teams are possibilities for S14 (even though I hate the idea of having some kind of politics involved with the latter, it may make for some really good games).

I will be preparing the private forum for this tourney soon.

Definitely need some better way of determining the silver teams that participate in this. There were definitely some other silver teams out there that would have made this more of a challenge. Then again I don't know if any of them even volunteered for the tourney or not.

Still waiting for scrim request from Boise Hawks.

Can I send the scrim or must I continue to wait for them to offer it?

This is one of the issues that I also had in mind, which is why I'm considering a selection committee. I think more of the stronger Silver teams may consider entering this tourney next season, just like teams from Gold are doing now. There were some good games, but there were also some blowouts as well..

Another thing I'm considering for next season is to get 16 teams for Silver and have a qualifying round to determine the 8 Silver teams that will participate. But that may have an effect on the scheduling, which has been one of the best things about the challenge this season since it wasn't demanding at all.

Something else to consider is that Gold teams usually boost early to mid season, where Silver teams usually boost late season, giving the Gold an extra advantage after they boost but before Silver boosts. Even the best Silver teams will struggle against a lower end Gold team that has boosted. Just look at the 2nd round results of this season's tourney. Not sure how you could even things out though.

Also Gold plays at a higher level of competition, so they are forced to adjust or die every game. The same cannot be said about Silver. The best teams in Silver can go 12-4 without changing their AI once. I went 20-0 in Silver 2 without looking at my AI more than a couple of times that season.

You can bet that there are still Silver teams that are using 100% run focus and power blitzing on every single defender.

If you didn't have a decent pass rush / coverage in Gold you were going to drop games that you should have won. And in Gold, those games aren't the difference between being number one and number 3 seed... those are the games that decide if you make playoffs or you fall back Silver.

I agree, but this is why Gold has an inherent advantage in this tourney, because the teams are used to preping for each and every game. Good Silver teams do that against other good teams, but there are a lot of weak teams in Silver that you don't need to prep for. Finding the good Silver teams that are close to going Gold is easier said than done, but that's the only way to minimize Gold's natural advantage in this tourney.

YOu don't think you have an advantage by playing a day early and having the entire team made up of your own players? Pot meet kettle, Kettle, pot
