I respect Cobra Kai and the fact that you are using a dual-threat QB, but at least be honest. This is not about revolutionizing GLB and getting people to use less cookie cutter builds, this is just PR.

Their success = the option

True, but the threat of the QB holding onto the ball and running with it really is what makes the option affective. That is more where I was coming from.

But that was mostly true about their run game, tbh, and you'd have defenders that can't properly key on the ball carrier.
Again, this game doesn't even allow for all of that and I don't believe talking about the triple-option is very relative to the state of GLB.

I mean, you can't run it.
And, even if you could, the dots in the game wouldn't know enough to care about this supposed threat and they wouldn't behave any differently because that's how the sim works.

And you haven't won anything yourself, not even a player in the Pros.

+1

Its not a gimmick first of all. We are styling ourselves after early 90s Nebraska Cornhusker teams....anyone remember those days?

Im actually still REALLY learning the full capabilities of this offense but it makes teams have to change their entire AI for us. That is what makes it different, that is what makes it unique, that is why you will see more of these pop up.

With the triple-option?!?!?!?

When did GLB start letting us run the option?
Not even comparable, IMO

Think outside the box.

I'm only suggesting that a team that had its success founded on the triple-option isn't a team that the current game of GLB allows you to model yourself after too much, at this point in time.

This is why it is important to plan for the future, IMO.

Not revolutionizing it as a whole as there are rushing QB's at many levels, but it is true that they will be the first to employ one exclusively at the Pro level. It is PR though

some questions, sirs.

with the MVP races that will be going on and with the cadre of excellence that is the Cobra Kai WR core will there be problems later on down the road with WRs not getting chances to contribute beyond that of pancaking the poor helpless CBs that they have opposing them?

can he throw as well as run?

have you incorporated wildcat yet, and why wouldnt any of the excellent RBs in the Kai staff be better off, regardless of out of position penalty, with the ball handling?

thank you for your time

He can throw.

Wildcat is not truly effective...yet.

What makes this gimmick better than the normal non-gimmicky run-heavy team?

By all means, actually discuss this.

People still may be skeptical. It really causes problems for the Defense and allowing the Offense to specialize in something really helps them out from a player build perspective. What are your thoughts mal?

I believe your best argument for any type of offense that isn't typical is simply the fact that playbooks would have to account for such teams differently, tbh.
Yes, I believe that is a very viable threat.

I also believe that helps teams much more in the regular season and mostly against the lesser teams than it helps them against the better teams and in the postseason especially.

You are correct. I know of no other Pro team that is using a rushing QB exclusively.

It is something new that is not being done by any other Pro team.

That is revolutionary.

Well, I think you plan for the future then.
...but you're not suggesting that it's a good idea to try and run as close to a triple-option team as possible with the idea that the future may one day let you run that actual offense, are you?
