Interesting I was looking for the thread on scrambling
Though I really feel that the option should be up to the Offensive Coordinator not the owner of QB.
ITS proposed a scramble option in progressions.
I proposed a rollout drop down menu feature for each passing play. Roll out strong, roll out weak, do not roll out.
The QB will roll out and run through progressions until he hits the LOS or the scramble option of the progressions and tuck the ball and go.
The scrambling formula is busted we all know that. It would be better to dump the sliders just go through the OAI.

Here's how to fix QB scrambling (because it's obviously flawed right now):
First off, have the "almost never", "sometimes", or "often" settings actually mean something. As of now, even with this setting on often, a QB may scramble 2 or 3 times a game, if that. To me, "often" should mean that whenever a pass rusher beats his blocker or gets even close to the QB, he should leave the pocket immediately. Even after 3-4 seconds without a really good pass rush, a true scrambling QB would get uncomfortable in the pocket and look to make a play with his legs.
After the QB is out of the pocket, there should be another tactic such as "scramble to throw" or "scramble to run" or "balanced" that is activated - maybe a slider would work for this. If the QB has scramble to throw set, he should lose a little speed (because he has his eyes downfield) and stay behind the LOS longer looking for an open man. This type of QB would then tuck it and run after maybe 2-3 seconds of being out of the pocket with no open man. If a QB has scramble to run set, he should get out of the pocket at or nearly at full speed and get to the LOS fairly quickly. Presumably, he would only throw if a man was WIDE OPEN (this could be defined as no defender within 3 + yards of him). If nobody's wide open by the time he reaches the LOS, he has a better chance to pick up a big gain on the ground because he was at a higher speed to begin with.
This last suggestion may be too advanced at this point, but I also think there should be another setting to say whether a QB tries to evade pass rushers when out of the pocket or throw it away. It could be a tactic like "How does the QB respond to pressure when outside the pocket?" and there could be a slider with "try and make the man miss" or "get rid of the ball"

So then situations like this one could be avoided. If the ball had changed hands here, I would have quit fo sho:

Really? He had to hover around the left side of the field for that long in order to find a pass? Ugh... I didn't realize how bad it was.

Something really needs to be done about that.

WOW.............................I just don't even know what to say, I'd be really pissed if that was my team. If I was a QB I could of run for that and I'm not that fast.......that's just insane, that def needs to be fixed

also look at this play http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1383095&pbp_id=9779347 note the Line of Scrimmage (the 37) and where he decides to tuck and run (about the 30-31). Shouldn't he at least have the option to throw the ball for those 6 yards?

at least now the entire defense isn't instantly homing on a QB when he tucks the ball. but yes, i agree there are still problems.

But if you look closely at the secondary, they actually do home in on him right when he tucks it. And also, the WRs start blocking at that point too when, as I said before, the QB should still be able to throw.
