i made a suggestion thread about "league GM's" http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=1763858

it's a good idea maybe. i'm not too sure how many owners would vote for Randy though, he has burned a lot of bridges just with his personality towards others. if there would have been a vote to begin with (32 teams, 32 votes) non of this would have happened, IMO,maybe,

Randy you just need a secretary to Proof read before you post, then maybe you wouldn't come off the way you do towards others in the league.

Some of you guys are ridiculous, and either havent been playing GLB very long, or you've been wearing blinders. Sure Randy can be crass, and even insulting at times to certain individuals, but most of the time ive seen it happen it has been provoked(the insulting part). He is the same person now that he was when i got here, so it amazes me that you guys think something changed this off-season. He has always pushed to improve this league, and he has always spoken freely about how he felt that would be best done.

Usually there was someone he offended in the process, but for the most part, a large majority of owners and players were in agreement with him. I dont necessarily agree with his attitude or how he words things most of the time, but i do appreciate that he wants to raise the level of competition in a PRO league. For those of you who dont care for him or his actions(kenyon excluded), what have YOU done to try to help improve this league since you got here? No, talking BS about randy and trying to get the rest of the league to hate him doesnt improve the league, all it does is damage our forums.

The point everyone seems to be missing or doesnt understand is that Randy has ZERO say so over what happens to this league. All he did was bring EE Pro to Bort's attention that something may need addressed here, and obviously Bort felt he was right. Sure Bort may have said that there would be no more realignments unless done by the system in place, but this isnt the first time he has went against something he had previously said, and i seriously doubt that he did so just because Randy asked him to. His number one priority is the longevity of GLB, and it seems he felt that improving the level of competition in a PRO league would help meet that end. At the most, you could blame Randy for bringing attention to our league, but by crediting/blaming him with anything more than that, YOU are "feeding his ego". If someone wanted to make sure they remained part of this league, then they should have done whatever was necessary to ensure that they remained here, and if they didnt/couldnt, then you cant complain because they/you were relegated...especially not by blaming it on Randy.

I personally like the idea of improving our level of competition, this is after all a Pro league. I can play all the lame duck gutted CPU teams i want in a lower league. I look to this league for a more serious level of competition, and it only disappoints me when i dont see it.. Sure i dont care for how Randy has voiced his opinion on things in the past, but that doesnt change the fact that anything that improves the competition in this league is good for it.

We need more people around here who get involved like Randy has/does....they just all need PR Managers lol

Looks like USA Pro has two CPU teams before the season even starts:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=653

http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=714

I wonder if that will be "fixed" before game 1?

See, and this is where my issue comes in with it. He did what was necessary, he stayed out of the bottom 2, and was not a CPU team. He was asked by Bort if he needed to be moved down and said no. He was then given NO TIME to field a competitive team, and was arbitrarily yanked, outside of the relegation rules, because they thought he might not be competitive in a season that didn't even start for another 7 days.

I went back and pulled my own post from BB.com the day after our playoff loss this year to MCXA....

It's frustrating, but honestly the undefeated season was more so for me than a bad loss in the playoffs. Having a bunch of cake games in a damn Pro league (after Bort "fixed" this problem) made me want to walk away more than this.

We're not against having competition and against having a good league. It's the cherry-pick method that this was handled with that is the issue. It provides no sense of stability and makes you question what else may happen "just because" with faulty or misleading rationale.

That said, you're right it is Borts fault, as are a lot of problems with the game. He listens to the whiney masses (in changing DE's for example) rather than running the game like a business and following the structure of the rules. The fact that Randy acts like he's something special and is superior to the other owners/GM's/agents in this league merely makes him a giant neon target.

This is the exact point of the whole thing. Why in the hell does 1 person get the rules changed for only 1 time? Sets a horrible precident here.

nothing much has really changed, other than there being two forums now, every season the same thing happens, teams will gut, teams will quit,

Who cares about the name EE Pro gets in the rest of GLB because of a couple gutted teams? The casual players dont. I dont. most people dont. They are here to have fun with the dots

What I ask you, is why can't the teams that excel play in the Pros, while the more casual teams do not? Why can't they play in AAA, AA or lower? What gives a team the right to play in the Pros?

uh, winning a AAA championship maybe O_o
