Hey mike I have a question. I am planning on making a build according to this guide but won't getting vision to first soft cap and agility and speed to second soft cap make me neglect all my other stats for a long?

Here is my level 9 DE so far. He has been slow building on a team for slow builders so is able to train intense every day:

Strength: 16 Blocking: 11.6
Speed: 63.97 Tackling: 17
Agility: 52.18 Throwing: 8
Jumping: 11.6 Catching: 8
Stamina: 13.83 Carrying: 9
Vision: 13.14 Kicking: 8
Confidence: 11.6 Punting: 8

0-0-0-0-0
1-1-1-1-1

All EQ and custom EQ is in speed.

Speed is at about 50 (.3 away from 50) naturally and agility is at 52 naturally. If I got those both to the second soft cap it will take about 6 or 7 levels to get them both to soft cap and about 4 more levels to get vision to soft cap if I train it to something like 28. That means I'll be at level 19 or 20 with speed and agility at second soft cap and vision at the first soft cap but with horrid tackling, stamina, confidence and no SAs. Is there a time between getting speed, agility, and vision up that I should take a break to get my other stats decent?

Maybe getting vision to soft cap and train tackling until it gets to about 25 and confidence until it gets to 25 while putting points in speed and agility seems a little more plausible so everything else won't be horrible.

I think many build combinations can work with DEs. I have different DE build strategies than Mike and my 3 DEs lead the USA A in sacks 1, 2, and 3 overall. Speed and agility is key of course then you have to use a smart combination of SAs. Good info though Mike, it gives me some ideas with new builds in the future and I am glad you are having great success with your DE. Trying to figure out what works is what makes this game challenging and fun.

I want to throw in my stats and what I have seen the past couple of games.

level 25
Strength: 52.69 Blocking: 30.33
Speed: 49.52 Tackling: 33.52
Agility: 69.81 Throwing: 8
Jumping: 23.17 Catching: 9
Stamina: 30.35 Carrying: 7
Vision: 41.38 Kicking: 10
Confidence: 23.47 Punting: 9

Yea I know I need to work on confidence

Something I have noticed is that the LOT has been coming off the line very quickly and blocking an evasive ability to go around him. So my player will try to shoot the gap between the LOT and LOG. The LOT then comes down and initiates a block there and my DE is trying to then go outside of him. So he is basically getting tangled up with the LOT and getting no hurries or sacks.

i need some advice guys.. i have 5 SP to spend and 4+ equipment upgrade. Should i keep pumping pspeed? or add it to vision? and where should i put my level 16 equip upgrade?

Equipment to agility since you already started there, plus agility rocks.

I'd start training confidence and keep it there until it hits 25+.

SPs wise, either vision or continue to build speed or agility.

Tackling and confidence are both overrated for this build, imo. I only recently started training tackling, and won't ever put any points into it unless something changes. I haven't trained confidence, and will only be doing so when I have nothing else to train efficiently. Your fourth most important attribute should probably be stamina, which isn't very important at all.

This is what I meant by the stealth nerf. OTs pass blocking pathing has been improved, making it pretty much impossible to go to the outside untouched like DEs were doing early/mid this season when the evasive pass rush setting went in. Speed should help you with this problem.

I was going to watch miked's game today to make sure they didn't nerf the speed rush but the other team only threw the ball once >_>.
