Would be more concerned with winning league games.

If you want ladder games play GLB2. Don't bring that shit here.

Not everyone wants to plan for 90 games a season.

That is the whole downfall though. Your promotion system is based off the Ladder games and has nothing to do with the league you are in. Plus the whole thing where WL teams are just constantly playing other WL teams while Joe Schmo is never gonna reach the height of those WL teams during his tenure even though he is slowly rising through the ranks.

This is for the instant L79s. There are significant problems with a pyramid structure, as made clear by the copper, silver, gold Pee Wee structure.

I mean the ladder is a neat concept and it is fun. But the base the promotion system off of it takes away all the great things about the pyramid system in the first place.

Not sure I would base anything off of the Peewee structure. The pyramid structure worked just great up until the levels got so distant that the cloud system was needed.

The main problem with PW is lack of top coordinators, lack of teams overall, lack of boosting/CE dots, and gut jobs after promotion. A ladder would solve none of this.

That's not true at all. You win the ladder games, you get placed in a higher league. You win that league, you get a bonus to your ELO going into the next season. You lose your league, you get a penalty to your ELO going into the next season. A team that loses the WL would start with a lower ELO in the tourny than a PL team that won theirs. It would allow successful teams to move up faster, to the point where they are playing against teams where they sometimes win and sometimes lose.

The pyramid structure, depending on how tall and how wide you make it, takes a VERY long time to get teams to that point. And the wider you make each level of the pyramid, the less likely you are to have a top to bottom competitive league.

The Pee Wee structure is a pyramid. It is just three tiers, but you would have to explain to me how it wasn't a pyramid system.

Even when Bort was filling the copper leagues, it demonstrated how a pyramid does a very bad job of balancing competition.

When Pee Wee was released, it was Gold, 4 or 8 Silvers and 16+ coppers.

How the hell does the team that took 2nd in WL have a lower ELO advantage than the one that won a pro league? This is exactly why this is dumb.

You will have to be more specific since you're using perhaps the worst possible example imaginable. PW has undergone so many restructures no one will fully understand what you're trying to say at any time.
