Depends a LOT on traffic. One big road in and out means a simple fender-bender on a bridge can add an hour to that easily. On our last trip down there my wife, son and I all ended up in an impromptu bridge-party that way. Everyone just stopped their engines, got out of their cars, and started mingling. It was right around sunset too, and the weather was gorgeous, so it's definitely the most fun I've ever had in a traffic jam.

Also, you can drive from Fort Lauderdale to Key West in 3.5 hours... but why would you want to? There is a metric fuck-ton of stuff to see and do in the Keys all along that drive. If you drive it in 3.5 hours, you are missing the entire damn point of that drive.

I've been in Atlanta.

And holy sh*t is it awful. The best locations to visit are the cemeteries to admire the people who manage to get the f*** out of Atlanta.

I didn't say Atlanta.

I said the northern foothills of Georgia, or Savannah. Neither of those is Atlanta.

EDIT TO ADD: Atlanta is pretty terribad though, so I can't blame you for letting that scar you so badly. But yeah, try Savannah sometime.

Little 5-points in Atlanta is a cool little oasis. The West Paces area, Buckhead and select parts of downtown are really fun and well maintained. Other parts of the city not so much. I lived in College Park for two years and while it was a little rough I really enjoyed the area when I could go where I wanted to go and wasn't forced to use MARTA or venture into certain areas out of necessity.

I hope you enjoy my edits - since it's GLB Main let's try to keep it clean and I would also like to point out that your definition of getting "out of Atlanta" would be to some the definition of never making it out.

On that note, I think I would most want to meet Deathblade, just to see if he doesn't mince words irl and to compliment him on years of patronizing the forums.
