If you have a lower effective level than Semi Pro teams, you shouldn't be Natty Pro

I was sort of hoping our game wouldn't get played all season and then I was gonna message support on day 40 and tout that as the Pacific League championship game.

Yes. Of what game is the question.

I agree. One could make the argument that all of the team's dots shouldn't even exist outside of D-League. Mine, for example.

and this setiment is exactly the answer to the OP

Thoughts of logic from both sided here? #1, you simply cannot take away TOO much from the responsibilities of team ownership... otherwise it becomes as meaningless as being a lolgm. But, #2, a placement system that also causes terrible imbalance between teams as far as LEVEL quality is concerned, is also as wrong. Some of the GLB frontline peeps have posted this thought themselves and suggested it SHOULD be in the suggestions forum... which it should be. A better placement system that keeps leagues competitive AS FAR AS TEAM LEVELS GO, would be good for the game. You can't fix stupid owners and bad coaches and bad builders... so some of the imbalance will always remain. But GLB shouldn't be careless and add to the mix if they can do things to avoid such a libel.

Absolutely. I don't know who all got bumped out of SE Asia last season, but I think it's safe to say that team is better than the Crows. But hey, they scored points finally.

Here is the issue with a placement system like that: The owners above that team's level have already declined promotion, gutted, or otherwise made themselves unavailable for PL. This means that either 1) A team with an even worse record goes to PL, 2) A CPU gets put in PL, or 3) A team that clearly indicated they did not feel they could go to PL goes anyway.

none of these sound preferable to the current system, which allows the owner to decide. Do we want to force a team that knows it can't compete and said they did not want to promote to play in PL to benefit a lazy owner who can't be bothered to do what little work it is to decline promotion/contact support and get moved?

Good points, Vlady. I suspect there is something out there we haven't considered that could make it BETTER... but you are correct in that it can NEVER be perfect and mostly because of owners doing dumb stuff.

The number of quality teams has declined due to fewer dots also. So now weaker and weaker teams are getting in Pro. Might be time to do away with one of the pro leagues.

Part of the reason for that, as pointed out in the max level in real life thread, is the time commitment to hit lv 79 is just over 1 year, which is too long of a commitment for many nowadays. Simply cutting that in half by doubling tp and boosts each season would increase the number of teams and interest, so likely the level of competition would increase too.
