At Moss's age Rice was playing like crap with the Raiders

by playing like crap you mean actually starting, making the pro bowl, and the superbowl.

I hated Bradshaw when he played, so it's tough for me to defend him with too much passion...but 4 rings is 4 rings. He definitely had some meltdown seasons though (in part due to injury).

1975 is the only legitimate good season Bradshaw ever had. Even comparing him to the other QBs from the '70s, Terry was average at absolute best. He had far more turnovers than touchdowns during his career.

Raiders had nobody elseand they weren't in the superbowl nor did Rice go to the Probowl as a Raider

Jerry Rice was freak of nature. Unbelievable talent mixed with incredible desire, conditioning and pretty good luck too (in being on a great team, and in not getting injured too often).

He's the Michael Jordan of football, in many ways.

I hated the 49ers with a passion. But Jerry Rice was phenomenal.

Staubach, Stabler, Kelly, Fouts? Aikman, Bledsoe? Warren Moon?

Once you start naming decent QBs, Fran just fades into the woodwork. I hate Bradshaw, drop him off the list despite his 4 rings if you like.

Yet the best season of Rice's career was with Brent Jones and JJ Stokes.

You're not giving Fran nearly enough credit, but you grotesquely overvaluing team success helps explain why. QBs need to be accurate and avoid turnovers. Tarkenton was one of the best of his era at both while playing on some truly wretched teams.
