Casual has the advantage over regular leagues in that it isn't forced into 8 leagues at a tier. It's completely dynamic outside of it's peak (Pro).

The reason for abandoning the pyramid structure way back when was that the quantity of leagues could become completely dependent on the demand for teams (along w/ supply of players). Going back to a rigid structure just wouldn't make any sense. Contracting (or even expanding) demand would just terrorize the league and require more change.

There's no reason to change things in name, either. They're names. If you need to pretend that the two Casual Regional Pro Elite leagues are Casual Pro and Casual Pro is Casual World League, then by all means go for it. I'm sure someone can write a script for you as well. Other than that it isn't worth the effort, because there's nothing wrong with the league setup. People are asking for a sacrifice in parity for a name change. It doesn't make sense.

I am not saying we have to go to the extreme and change everything about the tiers of the league and expand all I am saying is lets just come up with another name that is more exciting then freaking Casual Pro.

How hard would it be to go into it and change the name from Casual Pro to Casual World League.

We can keep the Regional Pros the way it is set up just change the name of Casual Pro to something that catches your eye.

Until it becomes the norm and you're back at square one. Changing the name does nothing. Casual Pro is a name that represents the top tier in Casual and that's understood as the top tier by name alone.

There's no reason for a name change.

You do need a change because you go from Regional Elite Pro to Casual Pro it sounds the same to me actually it sounds like a demotion. Heck National Pro even sounds better then Casual Pro. Do we really need to have casual in the name how about just National Pro

National Pro= World League
Here is what it comes down to is that the higher powers want to keep Casual at the bottom. This is an easy fix and for the Casual loving players at least we get somewhat of an identity.

maybe they should change the name of the regular WL to "Non-Casual Pro Elite" and that would make you happy

what's in a name? You want something more exciting, maybe Casual Pro should be renamed to "BAM-POW CASUAL PRO YEAH !!!" that sounds pretty exciting. Say it out loud , at the top of your lungs, while holding your hands up and hopping up and down. It sounds real exciting then.

Yeah it is just a name so my point if it is so hard to come up with a name for Casual Pro then get rid of World league name.

Well when all the signs point to it then there must be something to it. I mean gheeze it is just a name were trying to get changed and it is like a Hell No.

Why is this thread allowed to keep going?

Its a clear cut yes or no topic... Nothing more to discuss... sounds like resounding "NO" so let's just lock it up already!

Step 1: Don't call it casual. Casual isn't a casual experience for anyone except the farm teams. The simple fact that it is called casual when I first started playing GLB last season almost churned my stomach at the thought of joining it. Now that I'm there, it's great. The name takes away from that. So yeah, there is a lot in a name.


Step 2: People that want to "farm" players should be forced to do so in the D-Leagues, not casual. That's what D-Leagues are for, development. Let the casual league just have the people that actually want to be in casual play it.


Step 3: After some given time, see how many teams abound and possibly growing from those first two changes, possibly add another Pro league and then ultimately a "World" league. Wouldn't call it "World" though. I personally like "Prime".

So, lets see........ something else that might take players away from the main league, and therefor make it "worse"? The real Pro leagues need more players, not less.

I'm more of the opinion that since we have pre-set AIs now, that Casual League should just go away...... no need, since casual league was just introduced for those people who don't really have the time or commitment for what it takes to really own a team, and the pre-set AIs are better than your casual AIs are. Eliminating Casual Pro would add roughly 1500 potential players to the regular pro leagues, making them better. Adding a WL notation to Casual might draw a few more players out of the real leagues......... pretty dumb idea.

Could always just top casual out at the reg pro level....... players too old or high level would have to go play in the real pros or retire, but would add to the player pool for the pro leagues....... fixes two problems at once IMO.

Its called casual because there is a lot less work involved. It was built for those who didn't want to put in the constant effort of AI's.

People farm players in both types of leagues. You won't stop that from happening.

The only reason its called World league is because there are 8 different "worldly" regions. Giving the name Casual World league makes absolutely zero sense as there isn't even a "worldly" region filling it.

"Casual" will never be changed from being called casual, as bhall mentions above, because it refers to the time and dedication the coaches are wanting to put into planning..... it is "casual" or more leisurely than the "regular" leagues.

I can't believe the same 3 or 4 guys are still clinging hopes to this thread....
