Blasts them?

Dude, other than the occasional gag I offer in kind. If someone just flames me, they get flame, if they offer an opinion they will get my opinion, If they offer a reasoned argument they get reasoned argument.

And if they offer a valid point I will even concede it.

But none of that means I feel constrained to tell someone they are right, when they are not.

Get off your self righteous BS. You have said people are plain stupid when they disagreed with you and even offered very valid
Do not even try to make your self look like you are the helpless innocence person and say people flame you for no reason .

Really grow up

If I called someone stupid they did far more than just disagree with me, they acted like an idiot in an insulting offensive manner and not as a joke, or at least not obviously so (the internet being limited in conveying humor as it is, I certainly have been bent on occasion over something that was said in jest after all).

This, of course, is not to be confused with my humorous claim to being the intellectual genius of the greater internet community. Thats all about me, not you.

But its very simple. If you don't trash me, I won't trash you. But your ideas better be ready to defend themselves because I am not one to let bad logic lay around uncontested.

Quick update Nat Pro is not the end all be all friend. some people think WL has that distinction. you speak of Nat Pro just because you have teams there. If you weren't in that league this suggestion would have never came from you.

now that is the rest of the story.

I will say this -- while you claim that you will listen to others opinions and drop an idea that the community is not in favor of -- I've yet to see you actually do that. Mostly I see you trying to feebly defend a suggestion that the rest of the posts are against. I think you'd have better luck if you let the unpopular suggestions die a natural death, and focus your attentions on the suggestions you've made that folks seem to agree with.

Or you can call me a Luddite.

Truth is not a democracy.

Just because 100 people don't understand a problem or the best solution does not mean that the problem does not exist nor that the solution is correct.

And if you haven't seen me say "Oh Never Mind" then you haven't been paying close enough attention.

As for ideas that are incorrectly unpopular (like the CPU team thread I was being flamed in that Bort implemented the same week), while I do eventually get bored or distracted or just not get to log on before a thread drops off page 1, slinking away from an argument is not my thing. Heck, a good argument is what a forum is for.

WL would be if more than 32 teams were in it. But as it is, while most people may dream of that "accomplishment" there first and most realistic goal is Natty Pro. If you include in that, as I do in these discussions, Regional Pro (or at least competitive and up), then its really where all players are heading eventually. Its the end point of the game for 99% of the player base. So yes thats my focus, its what I am interested in and the core of GLBs product.

As for would I make these suggestions if I wasnt there, probably not true. I only speak to what I know and only know what I am doing in GLB by and large. No time to study the nooks and crannies.

Tell that to George Bush.

But as to GLB I am neither stupid nor a dictator.

Course Bort said you all were wrong on many of my subjects, and implemented them (probably without seeing my thread but still). You may think hes stupid for that, though you would be wrong. But he is certainly in this environ a dictator, however much he may be reliant upon the public good will.

yello1 you continue to think your way and the rest of GLB will continue to think their way on this. your only defense to all the points that have been given is that you are only referring to National Pro. yet in another thread you have spoken that all of your suggestions are for the betterment of GLB as a whole. well you have basically proved yourself to bend the truth to try to help your own cause here. there are alot more leagues than National Pro and if your suggestion were implemented by some stupid reasoning. then it wouldn't only affect National Pro it would affect every league.

so if you were telling the truth and your suggestion is to help all of GLB. then your suggestion here has been shot down on multiple levels. now if you were trying to sell a load of bull like I figure you are. then you will come back with yet another argument to try to make people see things your way. and that essentially is you just trying to help yourself and not the whole GLB community.

so what is it going to be:
a.) you drop this defeated suggestion and move onto something else or
b.) you continue to argue and show all of us that this suggestion was made to try to help you and not all of GLB.

You logic is flawed once again.

National Pro is the center piece of GLB. Improving Natty Pro IS improving GLB.

There are enough differences between Natty Pro and the rest of the leagues that an improvement might be best for Natty and not necessarily for the Minors, and vice versa.

And where I actually had agreed with you is that some contraction is a good thing if the level of CPUs in a league level is enough to close a whole league (ie Reg Pro #69 etc).

But its not okay for National Pro. The day you start contracting the National Pro leagues is the day you start the timer to GLBs demise.

CPU gaps in the Natty Pro should be filled by adding owners, for example letting the people with a demonstrated desire to buy teams buy them with less restraints. That would be good for ALL of GLB.

So your effort to paint my statements as contradictory is what we in the internet cool set call Phail!!!!

they should have killed off one National Pro League when they added WL - there are 9 National Pro and above leagues now - kill off one National Pro league and you are back to the 8 top level leagues that existed before WL

or they could promote out of the regional pro elite leagues until National Pro is filled up

There are not enough CPU teams in National Pro to warrant that. No where near the 32 of a whole league.

And IMO National Pro is the primary goal of the game. and that should be as big a community as you can make it, otherwise players may feel it is unattainable and give up on the game.

Between CPU and crappy teams, there are more than enough to drop a pro league

Peace,

that is about it....

An example of a yello1 suggestion

Yello1 makes an suggestion(most of the time it is lame)
Someone disagree and shows yello1 where the suggestion has tons of faults
Yello1 then turns to some lame name calling(EX Luddite) And then claims he has an high IQ(which is not the case)

Now once a while yello1 does (as stated above) find a piece of corn. he does make a great suggestion, but he usually truns everyone against him because as soon as everyone +1 it . He then goes on how he done this for the game and says he so smart and on and on and on and on

heh, the luddite thing was directed to people that hated ideas that were pure improvement. Simple non-game altering stuff like better interfaces and more information. Things like the current Scouting system we now have that I had once asked for in some form. Chore saving stuff that a computer was invented to do, information sorting, more button accessibility crap like that. Hating that, and they HATED it, was pure Luddite technology hating silliness. Hence the tag.

Now its just for fun mostly.

As for the "ton of faults" they were either not at all, or things that could be overcome with alterations to the idea, which I would make.

Its not too cruel? Sometimes I feel guilty making them look so bad. Bad Logic like Bad fashion is sooo embarrassing.

But just like the guy in the velvet pants has too little fashion sense to know his shame, so too does the guy with the illogical mind lack the reasoning to know how silly he is sounding. So no harm done really.

Arguably, sure. But who are you, or anyone, to say someone is too bad to be in the bigs? The NFL is not filled with 32 Super Bowl Contenders, after all. And two teams have to be demoted each season to maintain the circulation anyway. So having some bad teams in Natty Pro is not a bad thing.

And more practically, when you tell those 1-55 players on the 12 or so teams you are axing out of natty pro that they suck too much to be in the big leagues, what do you really expect all those agents are going to feel about Bort and GLB afterwards?

A move like that is going to cost him customers, PDQ.

And worse a contraction like that sends a message of decay and player loss across the community that shrinks business even more.

So no, I would not think its a good idea. Bort should not do that till its all over and hes trying to just keep a cadre of players around to keep him in beer money.

IMO anyway.
