Are you seriously going to continue to argue about a time in the NFL that is MUCH different than now?

GLB progression is much like the NFL progression... NFL didn't always have 330+ lb linemen. Well GLB didn't always have 140+ strength O/D-linemen... well look what's coming up next season? 130+ strength on both sides of the ball.

hmm. I guess I don't see it like that. The game is set up to be a speed/str 1st type game. The game is basically written that 140 speed = 4.4, that is the meta game, and then you use sp's to get other things you think will have an impact on your players build. The fact you want the sim to adapt to your build, is your issue, I just am smart enough to realize that 140 speed is just a base that is required to be a WL worthy player. Players can sacrifice some speed and play at 130 speed, and others can sacrifice catching and such to play at 150 speed, but 140 seems to be a solid base for the next 2 seasons, and looking at it as a problem rather than a goal is your issue.

The game is set up to be strength/speed first because... you've declared it so?

The sim will eventually be adjusted to account for the inflated attribute numbers of the new training and equipment systems.

if we are to assume the wl is the nfl, I guess that explains why all these people with 4.8 speed aren't able to get separation vs wl cb's than huh?

In the NFL, a 4.8 player with excellent agility and acceleration would absolutely get separation from a 4.4 CB with terrible feet.

You have no idea how frightened you sound.

Wes Welker is like a 4.65 40 IIRC and he gets tons of separation...why? Agility, acceleration and route running.(Also strength)

And randy moss on the other side of the field drawing double coverage. and tom brady doesn't hurt

Alright, make excuses. What about Larry Fitzgerald? He ran a 4.63 40 at the combine.

I don't see how you can call them inflated numbers when in all honesty, these numbers were achievable in the older systems as well it's just that people felt the need to round their shit out a lot earlier than they do now.

When talking about separation, it does not matter who is throwing the ball and who is on the field. Welker gets separation from faster CBs.

Issue is that 4.4 CBs with terrible feet don't make NFL rosters.

Still, Anquan Boldin ran a 4.7 40 at the combine, he seems to have done pretty well.

No, because bort made the sim, and thats how he adjusted the builds to work, and blaze won a wl title because of how he made the sim. O and he just removed the beta tag, pretty sure he isn't going to change the way every position functions when he doesn't even come around any more. rofl...... O, and with the new archtypes cb's are faster than wr's so it doesn't really matter what he does...

well Larry Fitzgerald has amazing jumping skills and can catch just about anything thrown at him. And I think you know that 40 times doesn't always directly correlate to football speed.

This is a great point. GLB s1 users who want their s1 type builds to be really good get angry that their newer dots are now irrelevant. Most of these people trying making their s1 all star a clone of their s14 all star, and they found out they were never very good at building players, they were just good at jumping aboard a new MMO and are now tired of getting choked out

OK. A 4.8 WR with exceptional feet will get separation from a 4.4 CB with average feet.

Already stated that. Point is that pure speed does nothing for you in the NFL if you don't have the skills to back it up. See Darrius Heyward-Bey and Troy Williamson if you want examples. Fitzgerald, Boldin, Bruce and Jerry Rice weren't faster than every CB they faced...they beat them because they had more than just speed. Boldin beat them with strength, route running and strong hands. Fitzgerald beat them with strong route running, deceptive speed, great size and great leaping ability. Bruce beat them with amazing agility, elite route running and great hands. Rice beat them with pretty much a combination of all of the above.

Except I am arguing for this and have been advocating for this for quite awhile. I have a lot of incredibly fast dots. Ever think that some people just want this game to actually resemble Football because that is what drew them to it?
